First modern Britons had 'dark to black' skin, Cheddar Man DNA analysis reveals
The genome of Cheddar Man, who lived 10,000 years ago, suggests that he had blue eyes, dark skin and dark curly hair.

The fossil, known as Cheddar Man, was unearthed more than a century ago in Goughís Cave in Somerset. Intense speculation has built up around Cheddar Manís origins and appearance because he lived shortly after the first settlers crossed from continental Europe to Britain at the end of the last ice age. People of white British ancestry alive today are descendants of this population.

The Picts and early inhabitants of Ireland were described as 'short and dark' back in ancient times.

The dark skinned part was not necessarily true, the historical account was short and dark haired. Almost hobbit like.

Blue eyes is a rarity with dark skin, it happens occasionally.

But the short and dark haired is the earlier Celtic, and sort of where snow white tales came from.

However, with migration, one person's remains could have been from a mixed marriage, or that of a traveler.

They had tanned olive skin. Since they came from the middle east. Not black african skin. There is zero black dna over here.

I was reading someone thought some of the Picts went to Cornwall or some Cornish went to where the Picts were .

The Cornish are oftrn short with blue eyes and dark hair .They have white skin but tan in summer,.They have some Iberian genes and some Irish .

I think this in the news is a con .

The bones were found over 100 years ago and were hanging around ever since..

Somewhere on here someone said they were putting African genes into the DNA tests ....that could be what happened here ..

Itís a con folks for the purposes of brain washing ...

Just like them blaming us for the slave trade even though the Arabs and Africans were already doing this ...

I wonder who is behind it ?

Re: First modern Britons had 'dark to black' skin, Cheddar Man DNA analysis reveals
There are 3 races, 3. Caucasoid, Mongoloid, and Negroid. Where any of them came from is pure speculation at this point. Even the article claims that it is changing ALL of the time. The key is to understand the genetic differences between the different breeds/races. They were adapted to live successfully in their respective climates. Therefore, higher IQ was needed in some, longer more athletic bodies for heat distribution and aerobic activity was needed in others. Shorter stockier builds were needed for heat retention, etc. Occum's razor is a thing.

BTW, blue eyes require 2 recessive genes, one from each parent. Darker eye color is always dominant. Based on historical genetic understanding, darker skin and darker eyes will trump lighter and paler traits during conception. To have dark skin and light eyes is a genetic anomaly and would require extensive purposeful breeding to get those traits. They would not be consistent and have never existed before.

Also Neanderthals and Denosivans were not white, but darker complected as well. White skin is a relatively recent development only appearing in the last 6,000 years - and the origin is still not fully understood.

These people were the real Arians. This news really challenges the notions of race today - which is why this is so hard for some to accept. It destroys the whole concept of "race". The funny thing is that the Nazcis and racists were worshiping this ideal Arian ancestors that now turns out to be a black man. LOL

The problem isn't when the media pushes this trash, it's when/if the government recognizes it as truth when it's clearly not.

Exactly...

Also they are perverting real science which ,other than modern technology has not really moved forward since before the war2.

We were taught to not alter experimental results but now because of funding the ecientists will produce anything for funding ...

That is why I am annoyed . In the paper online they show photos of 2 men but not their names .

That is also bsd news if you want credibility ....

Someone said it was too early to be our ancestors...

We need honest people with rigorous proof ....

Well I guess the world is inverted and so do not believe a word they say till ,hopefully it goes back to being decent .

It doesnít mean they were dark. I have a genome for dark skin that usually only black or Asian people have and Iím white af, I have the blue eye genes too and red hair, it doesnít mean 100 percent that they had dark skin,

Can't post the link

Cheddar cave dwellers ate their dead and turned their skulls into cups

Skulls unearthed in a Somerset cave were skilfully fashioned into cups with the rest of the bodies probably being cannibalised

Re: First modern Britons had 'dark to black' skin, Cheddar Man DNA analysis reveals
There would have been people of all kinds back 10,000 years ago due to there likely being a big part of doggerland above the waves. Britain is a country and founded by a specific race of humans...and it wasn't Britain back then so how can they have been the first modern Britons...? LOL

It's deliberarely disingenuine since for all they know the bones were from a simple traveller or their genetic line could have died off. It's like claiming a couple of some blonde haired, blue eyed caucasions are the first "modern Chinese" because they find their remains there from thousands of years ago that were just travellers. It doesn't prove...anything.

Certain tribes of humans likely got trapped around the UK islands as doggerland submerged Ireland, which then got cut off from mainland Britain, the Britain from mainland EU. You have to assume that at doggerland's thinnest at times it would still be passable and others not for a long time, so there'd be on/off fluctuations of people back and forth interbreeding. So there'd be people on both sides of doggerland adapting to their environment, mingling their genetics together and so on. Think about that last bit.

But let's be honest here, we all know what the article's really about; pushing more immigration on the UK and justifying it by "it's always happened." Maybe so, but then EVERY country on Earth was founded through immigration, Britain, America, Africa, Egypt, Saudi Arabia etc. But they were all founded by specific peoples for the future of their own peoples. The UK is small as fuck, population getting crowded, not enough good paying jobs even for those that want them and public services that are so burdened they're almost broke. At this point our government should be working out how to make the UK successfully function properly with those already still here and their future children (who will have to suffer through one of the worst job losses in history due to likely millions and millions of jobs going automated) without having to worry about millions more who will have millions of kids themselves.

And I meant the other various countries of Africa, not that Africa was a country (I'm well aware it's the continent name).

It couldn't have been deemed modern
