Yesterday I was listening to Todd Schmitt on the radio, that's when I first heard about this parade. Todd had vets and high ranking military officers calling in and saying NO, this is a bad idea.


This parade is a waste of time, money and effort.

Cohan, old Yankee-Doodle-Dandy himself, who was perhaps the biggest flagwaver of his period which spanned both World Wars. He actually wrote "Grand Old Flag" in 1906 to support the troops. And it was only one of many uber-patriotic standards of his career. In truth, Cohan LOVED a good parade and appeared in many military events himself. So, to suggest he intended his song in any way to exercise caution in public displays of military honor and respect is simply wrong.

Staging a grand military parade to honor a president with five military draft deferments is an effective way of letting the rest of the world know that the country is now a total banana republic.

Regardless of the cost to taxpayers and the DoD budget.

He totally trolled Congress. Immediately after it hit the media yesterday - all the demonrats started crying about how it was a waste of money and the money should be used for veterans.

Which is what Trump wanted in the budget. And got in the Senate's version.

He backed the demons into a corner. Again. He backed them into a corner with his saying he wanted a "shutdown". And he backed them into the corner with DACA by offering 3x what they wanted.
