Why Did 100 Douglas Firs 'Break'?
This is rather odd. I live slightly North of there in South Coastal BC. The weather hasn't been bad at all. This is odd. Directed energy weapon perhaps? There was a weird energy 'burst' that wasn't an EQ. Anyhow it's not a very long video. I could see hemlocks falling over for no reason, but not Douglas Firs.

I have no doubt that in reality the future will be vastly more surprising than anything I can imagine. Now my own suspicion is that the Universe is not only queerer than we suppose, but queerer than we can suppose. J.B.S. Haldane

The only time I've seen first-hand firs break like that was after Hurricane Hugo in the forests outside Charleston.

Are there any reasonable explanations being offered?

Re: Why Did 100 Douglas Firs 'Break'?
Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eateth grass as an ox.

16 Lo now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the navel of his belly.

17 He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his stones are wrapped together.

18 His bones are as strong pieces of brass; his bones are like bars of iron.

19 He is the chief of the ways of God: he that made him can make his sword to approach unto him.

20 Surely the mountains bring him forth food, where all the beasts of the field play.

21 He lieth under the shady trees, in the covert of the reed, and fens.

22 The shady trees cover him with their shadow; the willows of the brook compass him about.

23 Behold, he drinketh up a river, and hasteth not: he trusteth that he can draw up Jordan into his mouth.

24 He taketh it with his eyes: his nose pierceth through snares.
Blessed Ev

Same thing happened to trees in the UP in early 2000.

A line of huge trees snapped off from their base.

It was thought it was wind shear.

It was just like this, only particular trees not all trees in the area damaged.

I've seen this before, it was probably a tornado.
The smaller variety F1's and F2's happen much more frequently and in many more places than people would think. I've been in two right here on long Island and one in Queens. Guarantee their was a thunderstorm that night.

PQ

Edit, I've seen patches of trees like this in upstate NY as well, I also assume it was tornadic activity.

cheers

I'm asking anyone with insight. We have a meteoric strike and a mini-tornado thus far, and we have you who what, cast a spell upon those Firs (not cedars, different family altogether)?

totally, sort of !!

hi

I do not think a meteor is the cause, it is the similarity to the oddness of the Tunguska event.

trees differ in their strength

this is odd

I look at the mature ones out my window and go...oh shit...I hope they don't suddenly just decide to snap for no apparent reason. It was a good out of the way place to 'test' something though.

is not a line of broken trees (so it was not a meteorite nor a directional energy weapon)

No, so it is a mystery and doesn't make logistical sense. I've been a 'tactical faller', our boarder is a professional forest fire fighter and I asked him and he is perplexed. He also does falling. The snap look defies logical explanation.
As stated, I live in the same micro-climate (Temperate Rain Forest just up the way). I've never seen anything like it before.

Re: Why Did 100 Douglas Firs 'Break'?
Red feather lakes colorado had a blowdown about 30 years ago. Thousands of trees. It turned out it was an area that had been selectively logged. Many of the biggest trees had been cut down and removed leaving less prominent trees to stand on their own. What was likely a microburst toppled them.

I’m not saying this is that. Just sayin’.

An enormous craft landed, bending/snapping the trees as it went down. Only logical explanation.

Wouldn't the local nearby be able to recall what they saw, heard, or felt that night? Local radar didn't record anything unusual, other than the small instant shock on the graph?

Where there meteorites seen in the area or in the PNW around that time?
