State of Israel Suing New Zealand Citizens over Lorde Boycott

"Two New Zealanders who encouraged Lorde to boycott Israel are seeking legal advice after an Israeli group said it was using a contentious new law to sue them.

Justine Sachs and Nadia Abu-Shanab were the minds behind an open letter encouraging Lorde to cancel her scheduled Tel Aviv concert.

Lorde acknowledged the letter and later cancelled her show just before Christmas last year.

Now Shurat HaDin, the Israel Law Centre, claims the New Zealanders, one Jewish and one Palestinian, knew that their letter could trigger a boycott, making them open to a suit under a contentious Israeli anti-boycott law."
