We will get an inch of snow and be brought to a standstill, not sure why this is getting so much attention weather forecasts are normally shite.

I don't know where you are on UK but you can count with more snow and a blizard on the end of the week...

Forgive my doubt but I’m in Edinburgh and the only accuracy you can count on is them being wrong. Cold yes, snow pure guess work. The model has shown 2 possibilities of a low hitting from the south later in the week and either going over mainland Europe or the UK.

The split happened a week to 2 weeks ago.

When this events happen in stratosphere they took 2 weeks to one month to propagate to the lower latitudes.

Someone planted rows of these on the south face for several hundred meters up here. Even a butterfly or two already. I suspect we will pay for it next month (east Tennessee, 36N deg. lat.). Dolly Parton, Chet Atkins, and Quentin Tarantino were born here.

ETA: the cold front finally pushed through, dropping temps. 20 deg. F this morning. So much for false spring;)

My mate Josh in planning within Kent County Council is still not getting overly excited about this and they are not declaring a county emergency or anything of that note....YET.

I think its hype...all media led. Yeah it will snow a bit...for ONE DAY BIG DEAL.

I'm up by Pontrhydfendigaid ATM -- the people here are pretty dismissive of anything bad happening. These aren't the tough native ones, just the newcomers that are all in denial. They've no preparations at all and have about 2 days food in the larder. Their emergency plans are to 'just pop down to town if there's a problem'.

I'm off back to civilisation later today. I'll ring the deniers up next weekend and ask if their emergency helicopter food drop has come in yet.
