You cannot destroy my vision when you see my vision undestroyed because I am just an undestroyer. I had a feeling it wasn't. So during my movie i went into the crap panther movie and it was about 90% empty. Did some organization buy up the tickets and hence why it was empty? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 75950930 SOLD out and people actually watching in the theater are 2 different things Quoting: I'm From TEXAS y'all I think some group or groups, bout tons of tickets online to push this agenda If you had a big budget, thousands of tickets at $14 each would be no big deal easy way to push you agenda, buy up all tickets online make it look like `13 million people saw it Friday and Saturday night (192 million divided by 14 per ticket = 13 million movie goers hmmmm ??) So...lots of tickets sold doesn't mean a lot of people watching. Sounds about right in our current reality. “We don’t heal in isolation, but in community.” --S. Anonymous Coward User ID: 72325042 United States 02/19/2018 12:24 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | My son is a manager at a larger theater in northern New Jersey. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76267690 He just arrived home and I asked about the movie since threads have been on GLP all day about it. The theater is in a mixed city... with gentrification taking hold around the theater. He says the Black Panther has never sold out and Peter Rabbit and 50 shades are doing better. And this is a typically slow "dump week" weekend because of Valentines Day spending and dates. I looked online real quick and saw this. 1 N Black Panther BV $192,023,000 2 2 Peter Rabbit Sony $17,250,000 3 1 Fifty Shades Freed Uni $16,940,000 4 4 Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle Sony 5 3 The 15:17 to Paris WB $25,432,717 6 5 The Greatest Showman [link to www.boxofficemojo.com] So is my son lying or are they trying to build hype? The GF and I went and saw The 15:17 to Paris movie on Saturday evening. The Black Panther movie had already started and I peeked into it while we were walking to our theatre. If was roughly 80% empty. I think they're making shit up. Probably. Have you ever been to a film that was targeted to a black audience? White audiences don't want to be in the middle of a predominantly black one when they go into howler monkey mode and get all hyped up. It's the sort of movie to gin up some misplaced racial backlash so most would avoid that scene altogether. |

Um They don't need to BUY tickets They just artificially inflate the ticket sold in media reports It's a simple way to herd the cattle in to the propaganda box And even if the cattle stays home, the masses will still assume it's a good SJW movie cuz "everyone is seeing it" . |

Star Wars (and that type of hype) is usually on 4-5 screens in the same theater. Black Panther is only on ONE screen. Notice, BP is the most wealthy superhero? |
