Honestly I can't see it happening in this generation.

Their best opportunity is to pass some sort of law saying you can't inherit guns, or you can't bequeath guns. Short of that they'll need to wait a generation or two at the soonest.

I hope you're right. This upcoming generation seems very pro confiscation though.

Confiscation isnt possible. Too many guns, too many people, not enough police and feds. The logistics to do it just arent there. All they can hope to do is criminalize those who dont turn them in and ban further sales.
