To be fair, admitting you needed psych help in the 19th century essentially meant you'd be interred for life, away from everything you knew.

I'd think it was more of a "hopeless, last resort" thing back then.

Plus the definition for mental illness has changed a few times to force HUGE groups of people to be considered 'ill' or flagged as potentially ill or a danger

Absolutely we had 5-10 mental health hospitals and campuses 30 years ago today - none. The patients now wander the streets and die young.

Much more effective now, let them roam the streets until they become volatile. They are being ignored and used as weapons upon a civil minded society.

Use the vulnerable as transplant victims.

Use the kids who are all alone as human slaves.

Dark forces win on so many levels by eliminating the institutionalized mental care facilities.

This impacts all of society as the numbers continually increase through economic warfare, immigration etc.

That ripple effect we are all feeling as the scales of polarity have been pushed to extreme left side brain.

To me, the field seems to be unwittingly weaponizing mental illness, splitting personalities, changing characters. I do not necessarily believe even the doctors know what's happening on a mass scale. Ive asked! Lol. I asked my own shrink to delve into her own findings... That there are more cases now than ever in history. She shared with me that she was deeply addicted to drugs & alcohol before deciding to attend school. Everything worked out quickly for her. Almost too quickly considering she also had children. These are the people guarding the hen house. She was great for yrs.

I stopped seeing her when I noticed sores on her face and that weird mouth twitching thing they do. So bizarre.

It is a problem even more so now with the increase of dementia within the elderly and middle aged people.
They require special wards in convalescent skilled level care nursing homes.
Mixing the psychiatric patients into such is not appropriate.

I know of one man who worked with his condition and never bothered anyone.
He was quiet and done his work, came and never played hooky as a no show, never came tardy.

He checked his own self into the nursing home and signed over all he had to them to finish caring for him.
By that time he already was in a fetal position.
It was hard to even recognize him.
He was a special person who endured a lot and did so quietly to the best of his ability and he knew what was wrong and happening the entire way, even up unto his death there.

You would have to fight back crying to see him, it was pitiful and he never deserved it.

We really need help for them, some are violent and not like him and it is very hard to maintain them on the regular wards of any nursing home.
It is risky unto the staff and the other patients there.

It is not a good situation at all, it was better in the days of having the State mental hospital operating more than it does today.
There are the diseases and there are the disorders and they are not the same, the diseased should be truly considered and helped, they were born that way.

most of the time, dementia is a VASCULAR disease. a disease of your plumbing.

Freud talks about the sexual component of mental illness but what underlies the sexual component is the vascular health. rage at not being able to feel sexual satisfaction, is really just lack of ability to get blood to your body, not just sex organs. by becoming enraged or highly agitated you are self adrenalizing in order to increase vascular blood flow.

I've said this for years. I work in a state psychiatric hospital.

There is no emergency room or acute care anymore.

Call your govenor and demand state hospitals being back acute care and er services.

The private sector cannot provide mental health care because most people don't have insurance and they have to operate at a profit.

State hospitals don't have to run at a profit. It's about wellness not money.

This really shouldn't be a surprise.

I actually don't think it sounds crazy that mental illness could be contagious. I'm also not certain some dementias can't be "caught" from others. I know a few nurses who have always worked in long term care (aka nursing homes), who are quite young, yet have dementia. They worked for years with patients with Alzheimers and other forms of dementia. I dunno.

I just stay away from women that act like witches , they are the ones that inject mental illness into people . They have spells that are much more effective on men and thats why 8 out of 10 suicides are males . Don't be lured in by temptress' looking to entrap you into Satans clutches . Those ladies with a smirk that also seem to have the thousand yard stare thats the ones I find are most often practising Wiccans .
