I was looking to retire the last few years and finally did. I was hoping my brother and existing staff could continue without me there as much...tried to phase out but I'm the only one that knows the whole business inside and out...so I just closed the doors and I'm done.

I just looked it up, 15 years less on average. 60 years for a male. I wonder why? Shaving accidents?

We are doing very well...the family business makes aerospace fasteners....Space X is now our largest client....Rocketdyne still a close second....I'm out of the everyday dealings so don't ask....I simply know with the tax breaks and an ever widening interest in space we are "in the money"

My business is coming up on its year anniversary and it’s doing well. Pretty much in the black at this point but I financed the whole thing out of pocket. It’s a small bar and grill with a handful of ‘competitors’ on the same street.

In a year where the other restaurants say it’s the worst year ever I’m doing just fine and my customer base is growing by leaps and bounds. But the other places cater to the dregs of society and I offer something more upscale and family friendly. Plus alcohol is depression proof which is why I opened a bar. Plus I know hospitality.

The area I live is a high poverty area but we are trying to change that. New industry coming in and things are starting to boom. Im on some local planning committees and we work tirelessly to increase the local economy.

This is my second business. My first business netted (not gross) 14.3m last year but the steel tariffs will likely slash that. It’s fine by me since my country comes first over personal wealth. MAGA!

I’m working on a new project that should be up in about 2 years. In a decade I’ll be a house hold name for travelers. I try to be optimistic because there’s always a way through if you just keep pushing. The universe caves to persistence.

If you’re in an area where large ships make port they use similar systems as aircraft. If you’re talking electronics and such. Shipping companies often use aircraft contractors to repair and upgrade their radars and nav systems.

People will always try to tear you down, but as Mother Teresa said "Build anyway".

For would-be entrepreneurs right now is a great time to start a business. As truth-seekers you should be aware of how the future is going to turn out.

5 years in business-Hair salon in a small rural town of about 35,000-we were about 1500.00 above for the month of february this same time last year and last year was the best year since we opened. And tax time is just starting!! People are getting the more expensive services and coming more often and referring people. Business is booming!

I don't own a biz, but work as a design engineer. I do frameless, brushless motors for A&D, industrial automation, and robotics. We're insanely busy. The Chinese copy everything that we sell in the Asian market wrt robotics though. Pretty soon, China will not be an LCR.

I sell a service to trucking companies. After 2009, we went from flying high to barely flying until about mid 2017. New regulations (electronic logging devices) costing trucking companies thousands per truck, infuriated trucking companies enough to double their prices to haul.

Now trucking companies have extra money to buy again. Things have gotten better for me, but higher freight rates will eventually hit the consumer.

It's not your fault. After all, you didn't build that, now did you?

So far, this year is good. We have expanded the shop and hired three more technicians.

If the next couple months go like I think they will, we will expand again to add a dedicated room for CNC machines and 3D printers.

FWIW, we do not pay for advertising and we do not borrow money. It is a unique business model that relies entirely on word of mouth.

I suspect the recent tax cuts are going to have a profound, positive impact... and the effects are just starting to ripple outward.

I started my own Company two years ago. The Company I worked for got bought out and the new owners wanted to focus strictly on Agricultural projects. My area of experience was all Industrial related and I wasn't interested in starting over so here I am ;)

Historically, January was never a good month for Sales for us...we have never sold a system in the month of January in the last 20 years. This year, we sold two, plus sold two more in February. We still have one system from December we're completing now. Backlog is pushing a half million and Sales forecast is another $650K by the end of April. Our Parts and Service departments are each pulling in around $60K per month over the last six months, up about 30% from a year ago.

I have an interview with an Accountant this week and the job is hers if she wants it. If Sales activity continues to remain high, we will be hiring two more positions, one for our shop and one for a travelling Technician.

All in all, not bad for a new, 7 employee Company :)

Business been great!.....my investment properties are cash cows and my fabrication/locksmith biz been going great as well.....I even turned down an account for a large building complex cuz I'm too close to retirement to deal with it....I rather work on small "one of" fabrication work....

Im sure the pharmaceutical industry and and their drug pushing doctor have shaved years off of the lives of those that they were supposed to help.

I tried to emulate what the wealthy do, buy real estate after the crash at artificially low interest rates, and refinance them when they recover. I turned $5000 in 2007 into close to $2 million this year. $500,000 is liquid in high dividend paying stocks. Not bad for a poor kid from blue collar parents. My rents gross 35,000/mo and net me about $20,000, dividends pay another 10k/mo. I donate or find my personal non profit with about half of this money, renting privately subsidized housing to low income americans

Extremely high van insurance, along with new expensive parking charges, high road tax increase, high cost of diesel, some customers..esp: women not paying..! & then to put the final spanner in the works.. local council banned large vans off the estates & local surrounding roads. For those with small vans, they have to prove they're working for a Company or proof of their own business along with tax returns & the business's book-keeping records. This came into effect last September, so an awful lot of us man with a van went 'bust!' This is why I fucking hate the EU, why I fucking hate women in positions of power where all they do is ruin peoples lives & businesses.

Fuck Women for doing this to us...!
