Mitch McConnell fractures shoulder after falling at Kentucky home

(Axios) - Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) has fractured his shoulder after falling at his Kentucky home, his spokesperson said in a statement Sunday. The 77-year-old McConnell has been treated and released from the hospital and is working from his home in Louisville.

The big picture: The injury comes as a number of Democrats and some Republicans have called upon McConnell to cancel the Senate's August recess so that lawmakers can pass gun control legislation in the aftermath of two deadly mass shootings this weekend. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi demanded on Sunday that Senate Republicans put an end to to their "outrageous obstruction," referencing McConnell's refusal to bring two background check bills passed in the House this year for a vote on the Senate floor.

I hope you mean domestic terrorism, because while I totally abhor and condemn domestic violence and think perpetrators ought to be jailed for it, the death penalty seems a bit of overkill.

The radical left get away with saying anything and everything on the internet and social media as conservatives get censored, demonetized and algoryhythmed into oblivion. So who’s left that’s doing all the hate speech, I wonder.

People are Questioning after the EffBeeeye thing. But that game is over. No one can hide behind anonymity, people wrote what they wrote. People who know can not stop sharing what they know. It is a divine imperative. Trins change has done a wondrous thing. When I wrote for another site r m n...I used to call places and say I was an investigative journalist and could chat with people, on record, and now we can all do that.

If 'they' are trying to scare us..good fricking luck to them. Grasping at broken reeds. Not one person has pushed for violence (aside from hanging certain people after a legal trial) or anything like that. I'm glad I am here because I have been through a lot of things others have not and, I am sitting here typing in my home and not in jail because I know what they can do and what they can not.

There is no need for fear (CV might argue this but it is true), fear is the impulse to run. You can combat that fear with wit, intelligence a gun or whatever. Terror is what they are trying to instill and terror is very different then fear. When a person is in terror, they get stuck and can't move. Terror is what happens when a cougar is about to snap your spinal cord to give you a painless death. And you can't do squat about it.
