Philadelphia, PA — For those who have been keeping up with the child sex abuse scandal in the Catholic church that erupted late last month in Pennsylvania, many have been wondering how it was allowed to go on for so long without anyone getting charged or arrested. Now, we may have the answer—the police were complicit.
During a grand jury report into the child sex abuse by priests in Pennsylvania, the state Attorney General, Josh Shapiro provided insight into how priests were allowed to go on for decades preying on children. He singled out the two groups responsible for covering up the crimes of the church.
One of the groups named by the AG was the Catholic Church hierarchy like the archbishops and cardinals who reacted to allegations of child rape by simply transferring the priest to a new church or failing to act at all. The other group Shapiro named was law enforcement, who he says acted in tandem with the abusive priests to keep their horrific habits from ever reaching the public eye.
“The abuse scarred every diocese,” he said. “The cover-up was sophisticated. The church protected the institution at all costs.”
Not only did the church protect pedophile priests, but the investigation revealed a “failure of law enforcement,” according to Shapiro.
According to the investigation, at the same time the church was covering up the abuse by protecting the pedophiles, it also had assistance from police or district attorneys who aided in covering it up as well. Sometimes this aid was in the form of looking the other way, while other times, it involved actively thwarting investigations.________________________________ THIS is why it has endured for centuries.... I hate it all.  awful, pope needs to go, too There has always been something wrong with the Roman Catholic Church from the start of Constantine, history besides what the Vatican talks about is your friend, they are the biggest brain washer's in history. Tell me how a parent would allow the Pope to castrate a son to the Vatican choir back when I was a young woman, this was done, someone found out why their voice stayed so high after they got older past the time for the deeper voice to set in. It came out an they said they would stop doing it. A parent allowing this to be done to the sons, brain washing that a fact, it worshiping the pope as a god on earth instead of in Heaven. That plus really made me sick, I just listed to the reports back then and never was it spoken of again. It was not just a one day thing about the reporting. I was not the only one dismayed about this. I say that was total control over his followers, in the Roman Catholic teaching I guess, the pope is infallible right? That was not what Jesus or any others said in the bible either old testament or the new to any head of the priesthood, the old testament they became a problem and for sure they have under the New Testament, and not just the Roman Catholic Church many have become corrupted they have gone away from their first love and joined another. I remember learning about that as a music major my freshman year of college, Hankie. They had been doing this for centuries. The boys were, probably still are, called the castrati. It was supposedly a huge honor to be chosen to be one...
