Cheney looks like he is looking for an exit in case this an arrest trap.

I remember he was worried/parqanoid about wireless security. I think doctors access the device via Blutooth, so there is a possibility of a hacker taking control first of patient's smartphone, then controlling the pacemaker with Bluetooth, allowing theoretically a hi-tech assassination. I don’t think that’s so high tech anymore. Pacemakers etc are remotely controlled today. That is something to think about a hacker getting hold of. He should be worried for all the deaths he’s responsible for. I’m really surprised he’s still going. I think we have weapons now that can give one a heart attack directly like a gun now. Obviously it's been off the shelf tech hardware wise for long time, but remote hacking the pacemaker still requires skillz ... a proof of concept demonstration of a pacemaker hack has been provided in some white/grey hat hacker conference. An old friend has a pacemaker and I was amused when he grumbled "Knowing what morons doctors are I guess the password of my pacemaker is "password1" ..." Rumors of CIA heart attack gun are old as hills.
