Yeah, he has written some amazing pieces throughout his career. Funnily though, when I tell people how much I love his music, lots of people say they have never heard of him, but when you start to play some of his more well-known ones or read out movies and tv that he has written for, then they say they know of his works.

Some thoughts after catching up:
My dad got a pacemaker six years ago.
4 days later he stopped breathing.
He sang Barbershop chorus music, so I heard that a lot.
They listened to LP records of Fiedler and others when I was a kid.
Having played cello in an orchestra, there's nothing like the dynamics of it.
Morricone was known for his using odd sound effects.

I lost my Dad in early 2017.

Something I didn't know; apparently, according to lots of hospital staff, dying patients often stage a last rally, when they perk up, and become vital, for one, last time.

Not exactly raging, against the dying of the light, but a good show, nonetheless.

Only ever been to two funerals. My aunt (which was a depressing affair, from that side of the family) and one of my brothers (we just brought up all the funny times and spent most of the day laughing).
