I'm kicking myself in the ass right now....
I'm a data guy. MAJOR DATA GUY...
When Q post 4842 dropped (total number of deaths comparison over last few years) - Q linked to CDC dataset which would have been last updated on 10/7.
I'm assuming that at that time, Q's 2,130,000 total number of deaths through 9/26 was accurate per that dataset.
-----------
however, they've since updated that data last on 10/14.
Now, the totals through 9/26 have changed....
basically to accommodate about 240k excess deaths after re-average though the rest of the year.
Meaning, they had to back-fill these totals BY STATE. Adding over 200k deaths between 10/7 and 10/14.
I want to see where they lumped them, and verify by state.
Seems VERY odd that they would make that kind of sweeping update in 7 days.
Archived versions of the cdc site only pass through to the current updated (10/14) dataset - conveniently.
Although I've requested from the cdc the data as it existed when last updated on 10/7 (basically a backup of what it was on 10/9 when Q posted)
Not holding my breath.
Curious, did anyone think to download the table data on 10/9?
Quoting: White_Hat I took a screeny of this. Does this help? https://imgur.com/a/W4SfRwN
