The more I read this the more it makes me wonder if there are shenanigans going on already? I know folks are saying this is their way to get folks off the couch and out to the voting booth but it just feels, to me, like it's something more. Almost a signal of sorts.

Years ago my parents forgot about an off year election. The phone rang half an hour before the polls closed and there was a live person on the other end asking my parents why they had not voted and that they still have time and they should go immediately and vote. This so freaked them out they stayed home. They could not believe that someone was able to monitor whether they had or hadn't voted. In fact, thinking about it, this had to be during the clinton administration.
