The purpose of Q is to make you feel like things are already being dealt with behind the scenes.
People who feel this way feel less reason to fight.
Why fight so hard when someone else is already taking care of it?

2. Distraction. Very successful. As long as you are focused on distractions, things which do very little to help anyone in the real world, someone else benefits.
You are being given a lot of busy work to keep you occupied. As long as you are focused on this busy work, others are able to benefit.
So many things can be done to help Trump win elections, get his agenda passed, and etc. But as long as you are distracted and preoccupied with busy work much less of this will happen. Trump's opponents are very thankful for this.

Trump's opponents are quietly celebrating Q. Q has been a great help in aiding them in having electoral success. While Trump supporters sit around Online waiting to see what Q says next, and not doing the hard work which actually help Trump out, Democrats are ecstatic.
