Bridge was not skookum and didn't chooch

I can't remember off hand if this is the bridge or not, but one of the pedestrian bridges that failed was due to the fact that the engineer had previously designed a cable stay post tensioned bridge and applied the same theory to this one except the previous design was a multi span and not a single span. Since (1) span of the multi span bridge was equal to a single span previously design he used the same post tensioning.

Only problem is that you don't have a negative moment in a single span bridge but you sure as hell do on a (2) span.

The bridge collapsed under it's own dead load.
