What was the claim for keeping it and claiming ownership? True peace, happiness, contentment and self-worth come from within, and cannot be given, or taken away, by any person or thing. The Golden Rule Solves Everything. Please ask yourself "Have I sufficiently listened to both sides, before forming my opinion on matters of debate?" If not, you might want to re-think your position. Favorite green karma quote: "Never stop being weird." Favorite (anonymous) red karma quote: "Seventeen gophers can fit up your asshole." I found that to be quite impressive! Yay me!! |

Awe come on, fucktard, they took it because it was worth 7 million dollars. If it was worth 7 cents NOT A DAMN WOULD HAVE BEEN GIVEN. Besides, the confiscation of gold by Roosevelt was an illegal and unconstitutional ROBBERY, and he gave the gold to the J-ws, and there is no longer any such confiscation. |

President Abraham Lincoln reportedly ordered the shipment to help pay Union Army soldiers, Dennis Parada, owner of local treasure-hunting group Finders Keepers, told WJAC-TV. ... A spokesman from the Pennsylvania DCNR said that the group previously asked to excavate the site, but elected not to pay a required $15,000 bond." (less than 50%) I wonder who will be able to keep it if they find something!? the gold in question was hidden near the Bairdsford Inn, in Bairdsfords PA , where it remained over 100 years before being 'refound' discreetly |

That is the single most unique identifying characteristic of the spirit of America. Very few people actually turned in their gold coins. The only reason why FDR passed the executive order was so he could re-value gold from $20 an ounce to $35 an ounce in order to increase the national debt. Because, at the time the government was required to hold as much gold as they had debt, by nearly doubling the price of gold he was able to double the national debt. Increase his deficit spending. |

Dr Tickner was the project leader of a pilot study that examined a new technique called gamma-activation analysis (GAA), which involves blasting mineral samples with high-energy X-rays like those used in medical imaging. The X-rays make the gold radioactive for a few seconds, which allows it to be picked up with a sensitive detector. The results of the study showed that GAA was two to three times more accurate than the fire assay method at detecting gold in a mineral sample. |
