Came to Nashville TN in droves, in particular last Jan 2017. Going to the grocery store here now has become so stressful I will put off getting food until everything is gone. Millennials everywhere, and they have oodles of money! The cars cards clothes cells 12 dollar coffees, the pretensions. The emptiness. I never leave the house. When you do, millennials everywhere like wasps, dressed to the nines 300 dollar haircuts, and they all think that's normal.
The "fleeing" Californians are mostly working 2 income couples in the higher tax brackets, couples with two kids that live in 2-3 million dollar range homes in Southern Cal., sell, take their balance and buy these new builds everywhere. There is nothing in Northern California, it is still rustic and undeveloped up there, so they move to other cities, Dallas, Houston, Phoenix, Denver, Charlotte, Nashville have all been hit hard by the migration. Now outlying towns have been hit by the local migration of poorer locals bought out to the suburbs and little towns are having big problems now. It's awful.

There are too many people in them California hills, true. That world was on fire a bit. They started using the aquafers up. The real world wide drought is being felt first there. Traffic is horrendous. You have a separate in-the-car life from your destination life. It isn't sustainable. Get out!

But look! They are rich! How is this possible, I thought they were commys! Looks like people with college degrees doing professional jobs are needed all over, even in those places where the standards are low. If you were a normal dancer in NYC, you are already the best dancer in the whole hick town. The locals voted for Trump because they are failing to create a better life for themselves like these California dreamers. They are lazy and without imagination and hate the successful rich even though they voted for the figureheads of the rich. They just USED the theocrats to keep transferring wealth upward. On earth wealth has godlike powers.

This happened to Oregon years ago. Now its an infestation of liberals on the west side.

The Middle Easternerns and the Africans are infiltrating the US in great numbers. They are living on the coasts and then the Libs get tired of freighting their bills and move to the mid west. Once small towns are turned into Lib enclaves overnight.

For example: Bentonville Arkansas used to be a conservative town. Now that Walmart is building its new World Headquarters and are demanding a vendor presences for every product they sell, the average price for a house went from $50K to well over $500K. Rent for an average 1000sq/ft. house is now over $1200/month. Old houses are being torn down and new 2400sq/ft. houses are being erected in their place. The only folks who can afford to rent or own in that town are folks from the coasts who have sold their homes and are now finding a $500K mortgage is easy to handle. The only problem is the hard working middle class is no not able to afford the houses. Only the wealthy libs can afford the houses.

True story....three years ago a lady bought a house on a busy street for $21K. About six months ago she sold it to a developer for $210K. Three days ago the house was torn down. She rented it out because it was on an undersirable road. Good for her for getting a large amount of money for a crappy house.

A brutal winter can help with some of this...esp with the left coast lefties.

Join the club. They've infested my hometown of Las Vegas and now I have to move if I want to get away from them.

We used to have a great mix of cowboys, Mormons and regular people. Now it's half California assholes and the rest of us are looking to escape.

The fuckers are coming here to Texas in record numbers.

I’m 29/m working as a plumber/HVAC Tech and living right in the heart or Orange County. I net 70k/year and I’m practically in tears because this state treats me like a piece of chewing gum trying to get the last morsel of flavor I have yet. Rent alone is $1,700 and goes up $100 each year so I’m lucky if I stay in one spot for more than two.

My biggest grief is that I was born and raised here and felt that I should have an honest opportunity to own an OK spot in my homeland but I have been gentrified out of my own home.

I too am desperately looking to leave there is no hope trying to stay. You have two choices. Live like a Mexican and cram your self in a shoe box and have no prospect of home ownership or live in a suburban neighborhood that requires a bet I come of 100k plus to afford.

The destruction of the middle class is real in the OC. They only want the working poor and the upper wealthy to live here. Laguna started this way and so will the rest of the OC.

Second point as a technician I help close final inspection on many homes. Every million dollar home on up in Yorba Linda and Anaheim hills are being gobbled up by Chinese paying Cash on every property they can grab. NO WAY can I ever come up with a cash offer. It’s not even the mentality of home ownership and pride of homeownership because they let these properties fall to disrepair quite quickly. It’s more like a land grab.


As a millenial this is my frustration. I work hard put in my 40 and get Dick. Every other generation through hard work got given I place to live that’s theirs. I get shown the door or a life of servitude there is no line in between.
Also 2-3hr commutes everyday is no way to live as a compromise.

I hope they keep going east until they end up in the other ocean, we've had enough here in Idaho. They keep coming and then they bitch about the "cold" weather, hell sometimes it doesn't really warm up here until July, I've seen many a June with 50s and 60s rainy and shitty. They come here thinking we live in the banana belt, fuckin amatures.

They won't. They came to Northern Virginia area after the Silicon Valley crash to work tech jobs in DC. Every area they influence turned to shit, many VA natives moved further away from DC to escape their nonsense. Many of the highest scoring public schools have dramatically dropped in rank. There are many more homeless and day labor immigrants taking over areas. It is getting bad.

Californians are like a mental illness plague. They need to be forced to live in CA to understand the mess their delusion created.

It's unfortunate that So Cal has the most gorgeous weather and topography, and the shittiest politics and a crapload of shitty people.

I once thought about moving there because of the weather, now I don't go there for vacation (or anywhere now)...point is, find somewhere to lay some roots down that you can find affordable and tolerable. Good luck.

I'm not sure where it is. Used to be Texas.

I am moving out of this state in 2 months. I make good money and in most parts of the country, I can afford a good standard of living.

But in northern California, I struggle. It's not worth it. It's a beautiful state, but too expensive to live here unless you got a ton of money.

Eureka sure is pretty, though.
