After Swarm of Earthquakes World's Largest Geyser Erupts at Yellowstone National Park

Not worried at all, just interesting YS news is all.

It's kind of cool. The geyser hadn't erupted since 2014 previously.

It just shows that it's ever-changing and still very active geologically.


I wouldn't expect them to give any warning if they did expect it to blow. You have to look for clues yourself based on their behavior, animal behavior, etc.

I think when this thing blows, we'll know it then. I'm hoping not for another 1,000 or so years.

The movie 2012 might be accurate on Yellowstone's eruption, OP. As in it'll be sudden and without any real warning outside of ludicrous amounts of scientific machines to give scientists a small heads up that it's about to have a full eruption.

Fact is noone knows what any precursor eruption signs are for a caldera. We just have alot of physical evidence that there have been up to full eruptions of multiple caleras over a long long period of time. Noone knows if any calderas erupt anything like their volcano counterparts and/or are truly the opposite of their volcano counterparts.
