Why is american money green?

I have a feeling it was an intentional decision, and what that intention was won't be easily guessed.

I think american money is the only currency in the world that is entirely green?
I could be wrong? but im pretty sure all other countries currencies vary in colors from bill to bill.

The Canadian $1 bill used to be green (with a lot of grey ink on it). now its a coin.
and the Canadian $2 bill was orange. now its also a coin.

Canadian $5 is blue
Canadian $10 is purple
Canadian $20 is a bright green
Canadian $50 is red
Canadian $100 is brown

don't forget that the United States of America is registered as a corporation.

Pretty sure most paper was made from hemp in the old days. Bleaching fibers tends to make them less durable so raw paper had a green tint. Inks and dye came later when cotton and flax and wood were mixed into pulps and the convention of greenish money was established.

Because redlights are green.

And brown eyes are blue.

Kermit is green.

And the dollar is too. :)
