President has control over the money in an Omnibus Bill. This is not a Federal Budget.

Federal spending on abortion is already severely limited. Nothing has really changed. They still just get their $500 million dollars a year from taxpayers. So, abortion continues and was funded by this bill.

Simply they get no funds no $$$$.

That's what they do now and have been doing for years. Most of Planned Parenthood’s federal funding is from Medicaid reimbursements for preventive care.

You also have to realize that in addition to that $500 million from the government, they're also bringing in approximately $400 millions dollars from private donations per year and provide other services that produce revenue. All in all Planned Parenthood brings in about 1.3 billion dollars a year and that leaves a huge portion of money left to provide abortions.

In other words, the Trump administration did absolutely nothing to prevent abortion and just funded Planned Parenthood in the exact same way it has been funded for years now.

The government has had a prohibition on the outright payment for abortions for many years now. The GOP promised to deny them ANY funding at all. They're not a function or agency of the government; and not deserving of ANY taxpayer dollars. Period.

Republican Texas Sen. Ted Cruz said he voted against the spending bill in part because it provided taxpayer funding for Planned Parenthood.

“It continues to fund Planned Parenthood, a corrupt organization whose horrifying abortion practices should preclude it from receiving taxpayer dollars,” Cruz said.

Republican Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul also voted against the omnibus bill, citing the legislation’s Planned Parenthood funding.
