The translators (including the Hebrews) say this is only (1) death with emphasis added. But you can see that the verse clearly speaks about 2 deaths so they illegally simplified the verse, not 2 deaths but only 1 death with emphasis added.

The correct method is not to take away from the verse but to leave it untouched as it is.

The correct form is:
Dying [physically] thou shalt die [spiritually]

God said of Himself that he does not change. He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. The Holy Spirit does not operate by sending "wildly different messages" to each person. The messages are uniform, consistent and NEVER contradict the Word of God.
