The real estate appraisers now are more careful and tend not to listen to the referring mortgage brokers and bankers. The real estate is slowly entering the collapse zone. The foreclosures, mortgage defaults and bankruptcies are skyrocketing creating the biggest deflation world ever saw. The stock market sang the same song as it did in August of 1987. I've been doing some home shopping in Michigan recently, and I am told by the Realtors I'm meeting here that 1 in 50 homes in this area are in foreclosure. Just LOOK at the the USD on kitco: has been droping for weeks now. It was about 84 and holding up till mid March; then a drop to 81.81 that held for a SHORT time. NOW it is slowly floating down to 81.20s. So WHAT, you say ? Agreed by most pundents that 80.00 is CRITICAL, and should be the number at which the world DUMPS the dollar, causing a fall to 72.50. Some will NOT wait till then, IMHO. IF it doesn't stop there, 50 IS the next stop. In between, what producer/holder of foods/raw materials OVERSEAS, will want to close a deal on a dollar sale price, when he may not be able to get rid of those dollars in a few days without a risk of substantial LOSS ? Got tea, coffee, sugar, spices and any of a hundred items we DO NOT produce in this country ? Sorry to say, deflation is NOT what will happen for THESE prices. Peace. Eagle
