If you feel like the second quarter has begun badly, you’d be right.

U.S. stocks are on track to have their worst April start since 1929 at the time of the Great Depression, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. The S&P 500 index slumped 2.4 percent as of 1:10 p.m. in New York, a rout exceeded only by its 2.5 percent decline 89 years ago, a prelude to the devastating crash later that year that brought on the Great Depression.

China’s retaliatory trade tariffs combined with President Donald Trump’s criticism of Amazon.com Inc. to send equities into a tailspin Monday. Shares in the online retailer tumbled, encouraging a sell-off in consumer discretionary and technology stocks. The S&P 500 broke through its 200-day moving average — a key technical support — sending volatility higher.

Everyone who's not a total moron knows there's a downturn coming (downturn IF we're lucky it's not the total system meltdown that's been brewing for decades...even centuries).
Basic morons know it's due for the downturn that happens every 8 or so years...the rest of us, well refer to the parenthesis above.
So is Trump really that stupid or arrogant to think he can turn it all around that fast?

A 2% or 3% correction is healthy for the Markets. So a Market at 26K = 780 point drop at 3%. That's normal...

The problem is that there are electronic trades that have trigger points. This then cascades to even larger losses all because of electronic trading with no human intervention....

Best thing to do is to look long term and not day by day trading. Look at the 6 month and annual trends...

If you have extra cash to burn, then pick a stock and do your homework. Then invest when its at or close to its 52 week low...

I'd rather have the stock market being volatile now while trade deals are being hammered out. Once we have good trade deals, then the stock market will go through the roof...

What causes Market Carshes and a Great Depression are Bubbles. The last Carsh in 2007/8 was due to bad bank loans from Fanny and Freddy Mack and the junk bond tech internet bubble. Remember, 9/11 saved us from a Carsh. When in doubt TPTB will start a war to kick the can down the road...

The next Bubble could be in housing, student loans, and Auto loans. Imagine banks calling in their 30 year loans and auto loans. People will lose their ability to get to a job and the bank will take their homes. Many will be out in the streets. Banks will go under and a new Fiat World Currency may be implemented...

Dow dives 400 points to end its worst week in 10 years

Stocks plunged again on Friday, sending the Dow Jones Industrial Average to its worst week since the financial crisis in 2008, down nearly 7 percent. The Nasdaq Composite Index closed in a bear market and the S&P 500 was on the brink of one itself, down nearly 18 percent from its record earlier this year.

He can take credit that he got the fed to out themselves as anti-american. He actually got the fed to come outright in the open as deep state creatures. That is pretty huge.
