These are for elites and their bunkers only. |

Diamond BATTERIES made of NUCLEAR WASTE can provide electric power for THOUSANDS of years. When I was an engineer at Rockwell, one of our scientists created ceramic pellets using nuclear waste. The waste materials were locked up as constituents of the ceramic and could not be leached out by water. Quoting: darth 70183558 A barrel of those pellets could heat water to boiling for thousands of years. Nice energy source. As it turns out, the anti-nuke crowd is NOT interested in actual solutions except the option of abandoning nuke power forever. I once met a guy from the Clamshell Alliance, a prominent anti-nuke group. I asked him about using fusion power plants. He said, "Our position is that any fusion power plant has to be at least 93 million miles away from inhabited areas, i.e., the sun". He looked smug at this bit of humor. If the greens were serious about cutting carbon emissions, they would be all for fusion power as well as thorium powered LFTRs. BTW, LFTRs can burn up rad waste and obtain the energy. wow. I just need ONE of those barrels! Very very interesting. Your comment made me realize I have a lot of studying to do. The approach is simple: Figure out which elements are radioactive isotopes in your waste stream. Then, figure out which ceramic compounds use those elements. Mix, bake the pellets in a kiln, and voila! Then, you can leach out any elements that did not combine into the ceramic matrix. As an engineer, I always value the elegant, simple solution. I have been an engineer since I graduated from the Hudson Trade School for Wayward Boys. First, I was a Military Engineer, then aerospace, and, now, a metal coating engineeer for the past 16 years. I got my handle "darth" when I designed the first Star Wars experiment using the Space Shuttle back in '83. |

I'm not a treehugger or a nuclear scientist, but... The nuclear waste is powerful enough to heat water for thousands of years, yet poses no harm to anyone due to an encasing of ceramic? Ceramic? We're really to believe a little bit of ceramic will keep this otherwise powerful nuclear waste from contaminating anyone or anything? Yeah, good luck selling that one. |

Diamond BATTERIES made of NUCLEAR WASTE can provide electric power for THOUSANDS of years. It doesn't exist. There are magnetic and electric fields but as far as I know, there is not a field called a radioactive field. This story basically amounts to using scientific gibberish to have fictional futuristic sound to it like they used to do in Star Trek.. Either show it demonstrated working with multiple scientific academia present testing it with full schematics and input/output of this so call battery. Any claim by the nuclear power industry is BS, basically this is a fluff piece use to generate good will toward nuclear power. That leads me to think that there is something very wrong with FUKUSHIMA... ENENEWS.com got shut down, and there is no good information coming out of there. The whole place could be abandoned and no one would know. |

We are an independent nonprofit organization – the sole beneficiary of seven individual trusts established between 1948 and 1979 by two sons and two daughters of Sun Oil Company founder Joseph N. Pew and his wife, Mary Anderson Pew. [] One of the great challenges of our time is saving the natural environment and the rich array of life it supports on land and in the sea. On land, our last unspoiled places offer an opportunity to conserve wildlife habitat, shorelines, and pristine landscapes for future generations. Reforms to how our oceans are managed are essential to address overfishing, pollution, climate change, and loss of habitat. Until that fateful day when you realize you left your device in the car and your batteries froze and ruptured spewing nuclear waste all over your Prius. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 75901286 the nuclear waste is not in liquid form. It is upcycled! They take the graphite core out of a nuclear reactor, and then subject it to very high temperatures. This results in sublimation, so the graphite core literally evaporates into a gas. This gas is subjected to super high temperatures and pressure, which causes it to compress into a diamond! A very, very electric diamond! bump! |
