I'm in a semi rural town in Ohio and love it. And I spent my entire life living in suburbs. Currently there are plenty of liberals who will buy your urban property.

Idaho is cold. Texas has better weather but parts get very humid. Think about what matters to you.

Illinois is a great state in the Midwest if you want to go that far east.

Texas looks nice. The property taxes suck, though. If you are raising a family, it looks like a great place to live.

Why the hell would someone want to leave California to come to a state with just as many problems? Illinois used to be a great place to raise a family but the democrats have ruined that.
