I lived in Sacramento for 10 years, then moved to Orange County for 2 years. Moved away from California last year to northern Idaho. Here's part of the reason why.



Here is more reason to consider northern Idaho:



As a native Californian I was concerned that I would not be able to handle the cold, but now after my first winter I can honestly say it hardly bothered me at all. There are several factors involved. One is that as a retired person I can pick and choose when to leave my home. Another is that cold and snow tends to keep lazy liberals away. Thirdly, the snow up here is dry and pretty, and winter turned out to be a very quiet and restful period of time, in the same way that a good night's sleep is rejuvenating. Lastly, a snowy winter is a very small price to pay to live among so many patriots. The only liberal I have (knowingly) met up here is a college teacher transplant from southern Idaho, who apologizes each time she refers to her belief in global warming.

Another thing to know is that the weather is much better in northern Idaho than southern Idaho, especially our little banana belt area near the Canadian border. Protected by mountains on all sides and lower elevation than Boise area. Also Boise has liberals. There may be some liberals up north here, but they know to keep their mouth shut as they are severely outnumbered. After a lifetime of searching, I finally found a place where I feel at home.
