Everyone I know is ditching to Idaho, Texas, and a couple to Arizona - rough because you are stuck inside with the A/C so much and hard to get outdoors unless you live at elevation, like the mountains, but they have some serious storms in their mountains, lots of lightning strikes. Many went to Colorado, but most came back to Cali - too much weather. Those who went to Idaho had a hard time if they were not near the city centers, and hated winter's long dreary blah and the snow shoveling and such. We get spoiled in Cali. I would choose Texas, if I could find a decent spot, but the medical is hard to get there unless you find a really good job. Some areas are not so great, some are better.
