Despite prayers and protests from religious leaders and human rights advocates, the Kremlin announced Putin’s approval yesterday. The amendments, including laws against sharing faith in homes, online, or anywhere but recognized church buildings, go into effect July 20.

Though opponents to the new measures hope to eventually appeal in court or elect legislators to amend them, they have begun to prepare their communities for life under the new rules, reported Forum 18 News Service, a Christian outlet reporting on the region.

Protestants and religious minorities small enough to gather in homes fear they will be most affected. Last month, “the local police officer came to a home where a group of Pentecostals meet each Sunday," Konstantin Bendas, deputy bishop of the Pentecostal Union, told Forum 18. "With a contented expression he told them: ‘Now they're adopting the law I'll drive you all out of here.’ I reckon we should now fear such zealous enforcement.”

“There are potentially very wide-sweeping ramifications to this law,” Joel Griffith of the Slavic Gospel Association said in a Mission Network News report. “It just depends on, again, how it is going to be enforced, and that is a very huge question mark.”

One of Putin’s most recent controversial moves happened in July 2016 when Putin signed a set of laws, known as the Yarovaya laws, billed as anti-terrorism that banned evangelizing outside of designated religious locations. Based on the law, which has already resulted in religious figures being arrested, inviting friends or strangers to church in any way would be subject to criminal punishment. The laws would require foreign missionaries to have a permit from Russian officials to even speak at a church.

The laws apply to anyone over 14 and even apply to holding a makeshift church service or sharing your faith in your own home. These are widely regarded as some of the most restrictive laws that Russia has seen post-Soviet era.

CRACKDOWN ON INTERNET PRIVACY AND EXPRESSION

As part of the controversial “Yarovaya laws” that were introduced in July, Putin also signed amendments that will severely limit the privacy, and thus expression, of Russian citizens’ communication. The laws will require telephone and internet service providers to keep copies of all communication for six months. That includes texts, phone call information, web data and images sent from person to person. Telephone service providers will have to keep information for three years that would serve as proof of communications between people or groups. Internet providers would have to keep that same information for a year.

The amendments also say that these providers would be forced to cut off service from users who refused to comply with an investigation into their identity. They will also be required to give law enforcement officials any information “which is necessary for these authorities to achieve their statutory goals” on someone who’s being investigated. Because these laws will technically require a lot from service providers, they won’t come into effect until July 2018.

In effect, a fourteen year old who shares his faith about Jesus Christ can be arrested in Russia and charged with terrorism under Putin's 2016 laws.

No that is a lie. Christians in America consider the Jehovah Witnesses to be a cult and not Christianity. Those articles were written by Christians as were the videos.

Face facts. Putin claims to be a devout Russian Orthodox Christian while persecuting Evangelical Christians. Why because Russia has a state religion. They don't want foreign influence and so they are designating evangelicals as terrorists.

I'll be rooting for the good guys.

I hope the US wins, but only after the great nuclear cleansing of the psychotic liberals in our coastal cities.

But I really hope that none of this happens and that cooler heads prevail. In other words the orders of the elite bankers to destroy the world are countermanded.
