I have the same problem. Extreme thirst emerges after drinking whey protein drink.

Check the ingredients - look for NATURAL FLAVORS.

That's a code word for MSG.

I usually watch labels closely but I'm sitting here with a container of Vega Protein & Greens that I didn't look at before buying.

Despite a lot of good stuff like broccoli, kale and spinach powder, the SECOND INGREDIENT is natural flavors! That means there's a lot of it in there!

And yeah, my lips are dry. Spent $25 on this but I'm tossing it out.

... and I'm writing to the company to let them know why I'm no longer buying their product.

This is pure bullshit. I have pure whey protein without any monosodium glutamate. Have done HPLC for it. I know my shit.

try drinking with a straw, don't let it get on your lips an see if that halps.

It's probably caused by thermal denaturation of the protein.

So if yours doesn't contain MSG, what are you getting all riled up about? I'm talking about whey protein that DOES have it. Incidentally, check your ingredients anyway because there are MANY names for hiding MSG in your food.
