Re: Something that confuses me about the bible.
The bible between the covers is a manmade collection of tales, some bullshit, some trune some of no consequence one way or another.
It's a book, half myth, half suggestion, half insignificant half lifechanging.
But not all of it is important.
You have to figure out what is important and what is crap.

Power is given by god and taken by god. It's that simple.
Do what god wills of you if you want power and be patient. If someone doesn't deserve the power they have, and perhaps someone else does, god will take care of it. Just focus on what god wills of you. Maintain comfort by knowing that god is in control always.

Re: Something that confuses me about the bible.
you can argue the bible into endless infinity
its a circle jerk of endless self-congratulating over dead mens scrolls

there is no truth to it

if the Bible never existed, the Universe would be unchanged.

How is it that there are hundreds of archeological finds that match what the Bible says?

What about the millions of miracles that have happened for Believers over the centuries...and continue to happen today!

You and others on here simply refuse to accept the evidence.

And you WANT to believe there is NO GOD.

How is it that the Bible is THE MOST published AND read book in the history of mankind? It's happened by luck? Coincidence?

How many copies of the various New Testament documents exist in private collections or in the Vatican Archives, TOTALLY out of our view? How many were destroyed during Rome's ransacking of Israel from 66 - 70 AD? And how many more were destroyed in the centuries of turmoil that occured in the entire region of early Christianity?

You don't find it ironic that the Dead Sea Scrolls were not only discovered after nearly 2000 years, and are basically word-for-word the same as the Old Testament?

How many other historically-revelent documents exist in private collections or in the Vatican Archives?

And followers of "critical NT scholars" like Bart Ehrman are hilarious. They are nothing more than "Sherlock Holmes wannabes" trying to justify their educational status and degrees among mankind, and prove mankind's so-called investigative intellect is more knowledgeable than a book and basic Belief in God & Jesus, that has survived nearly 2000 years.

How did John write his Chapter 17, which is Jesus praying to / talking to the Father in the Garden of Gethsemane? He was off by Himself, when the apostles fell asleep. How did ANY of Jesus' actual sayings end up being recorded in the 4 Gospels? They were made up?

The manuscripts used by both the Catholics AND King James existed (Old Testament) existed at least UP TO 900 years prior to the creation of the first Bible.

Archeologically-proven comparisons of texts are basically word-for-word.

The Bible is the history of God's interaction with mankind.

Perfect? Probably not, since human's wrote it all down, versus the 10 Commandments, as originally written by God Himself.

I trust the Lord, that if anything in it is not correct, that it will be shown to me.

Well Christians are called to be in the world, not of it.
Even evil governments are there for a reason, sometimes we can't understand it until looking back in history to see the full development. Like Pharoah. Like the Herods etc.
They will answer to God for all they did.

For years I hated the Romans but I see now how they and Alexander the Great, laid a way for Christianity to thrive.

Every martyred Christian, killed unjustly, is a witness for Christ.

We have to render unto Caesar that which belongs to Caesar but we aren't of his kingdom. We belong to a different one.

We don't have to do their bidding if they violate God's law.

Right now, we are in times of lawlessness both God's and our nation's. What we have is prayer and our consciences and that is not to be despised in these trying times.

Do all you Christians trust your government?

Answer before reading further

Answer!!!!!!

You c
Do realize that Constantine took the true bible. Picked and chose what worked for the government and the adgenda and gave that version to the people. King James translated it after Constantine already got his hand in it... The original bible is long gone I'm afraid. The Greek supplicant is the closest to the original.

Romans 13 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.

2 Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.

I want to please God, but I'm having trouble accepting the part in bold.

The Bible had multiple writers from different time periods.

It's been altered a hundred times at least.

Obviously it would have been in the government's best interests to put this wording into the bible.

Question: "Why does Isaiah 45:7 say that God created evil?"

Answer: Isaiah 45:7 in the King James Version reads, “I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.” How does Isaiah 45:7 agree with the view that God did not create evil? There are two key facts that need to be considered. (1) The word translated “evil” is from a Hebrew word that means “adversity, affliction, calamity, distress, misery.” Notice how the other major English Bible translations render the word: “disaster” (NIV, HCSB), “calamity” (NKJV, NAS, ESV), and “woe” (NRSV). The Hebrew word can refer to moral evil, and often does have this meaning in the Hebrew Scriptures. However, due to the diversity of possible definitions, it is unwise to assume that “I create evil” in Isaiah 45:7 refers to God bringing moral evil into existence.

It is just poor reading comprehension. You obviously aren't comprehending this passage in Romans 13. You are trying to to contort God's Word to fit your own desire. Many assume God is calling the 'Illuminati' the 'powers that be'. Or maybe even assume he is speaking of 'elected government officials' of states and countries etc.

No one seems to give GOD'S ELECT the time of day. You know, his apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers. What about those 'powers that be' ? Who ear they? Your punks? That's exactly who they take God's 'powers that be' for. They treat them no different than the two angels that cam to visit Lot in Sodom.

Jude 1
[8] Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities.
[9] Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.
[10] But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves.
[11] Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core.

Titus 3:1 Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work,

We are to obey any laws that do not go against God.

Luke 9:5

And whosoever will not receive you, when ye go out of that city, shake off the very dust from your feet for a testimony against them.

If a ruler like what is happening in many place right now says deny God or die we die .

If our ruler tells us to pay taxes we pay taxes.

If our ruler says do not preach the word of God we follow Peter
Acts

18 And they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus.

19 But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye.

20 For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.

21 So when they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding nothing how they might punish them, because of the people: for all men glorified God for that which was done.

Hope this helps hf

I'll ask again. Who created the "evil" men? The men? Got it? And not only created them, but according to your own doctrine of omniscience - created them KNOWING FULLY WHAT THEY WOULD DO.

The same Creator that you believe wants only good created the darkness too. You can't dodge that unless you backtrack on the belief that God made all, knows all, sees all and rules all.

[4] For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.

I rest my case: from above:

Most religious minds can't get around this verse. They try to explain it away with flowery bullshit. It states what it states. God is not a liar.

Were your ancestors those that put the Cathars to death for believing the truth?

Did you hear what God did that time to the firstborn of Egypt when they were slave driving his children? Sent an angel right into Pharoh's palace and killed his firstborn son...right in front to them.

So what is your point?

They want to claim God created everything until they have to explain why all of the strife and conflict through out the history of man is God's fault due to the consequence of his creation.

Then all of the suddenly you start hearing bullshit spin and backtracking that it's Satan's fault or that's not what was meant.

Bullshit.

I've never met an honest religious person who would come out and say, "There are some discrepancies in my beliefs".

This is because most have thrown the entire meaning of their human existence into believing a lie the was created by ruling powers to manipulate a populace. To have the truth revealed would destroy them.

That's how weak their minds and character are.

Simple minded belief (faith) is a total failure from the get-go. It's a elixir for the feeble minded and fearful.

well what evil? He is not the author of sin, fallen mankind is responsible for that evil. God then responds with the evil of punishment.

That is because if an honest Christian said "There are some discrepancies in my beliefs", that would make them a liar.

God created everything including the evil. What seems to be the problem with that passage of scripture? Why are you wanting to call that out as a strike against God? Why are all the Christians trying to make bs excuses and apologies for God's Word as if they are somehow 'wrong'? How weak is your faith in the Word.

These are the same Christians that are afraid to tell you that he is going to send the reapers to gather the same evil and bind them to be burned in the Lake of Fire.

Matt.13
[30] Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.

Well, that's heartening. Does He want people to aspire to salvation or resign themselves to random destruction?

Your answers are derived from writings that were determined to be "politically correct" at the time. Have you examined any of the rejected writings for information on what other points of view may have been held at the time?

You have no idea what a supreme creator, if there is one, wants. You have only what you personally believe might be the answer.

But that's only the answer for YOU. The rest of us must find our own and I for one would appreciate if you would stop trying to stick yours up my ass.

As far as I'm concerned, you don't know shit from shinola because you're just parroting the same shit everyone else is saying.

Sure, bring down your Hellfire on me for not believing as you. Because that's exactly what you "Messiah" did.

Funny how you want to believe Paul when he writes passages that you can use to support the idea that the 'powers that be' seem to favor the 'Illuminati', in the minds of gullible people, but then, when called out, you run the other way and want to change the Scripture all of a sudden.

the 'powers that be' referrenced by Paul here are not 'earthly powers', but 'higher powers' , the ones who can destroy your soul. Worldly powers can only kill the body.

Luke.12
[1] In the mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they trode one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.
[2] For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known.
[3] Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops.
[4] And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.
[5] But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.
