There's a million things to do in Vegas besides throw out your $$$ gambling & drinking. Then again, tourists who love to gamble pay for my cushy lifestyle and guarantee city workers will keep our streets clean and well-maintained.

When you get sick of the Strip, go to the Springs Preserve, and have a snack (run by culinary students and very informal) and check out the view of the landscaping of the future.

Museums are not free but you can stroll around the "gardens."

Go to the gun ranges where you can rent and fire pretty much any machine gun you wish.

Yeah, this place is cool. Do the info tour at the Gift Shop bldg. Then drive the 13 mile loop around the park with plenty of places to stop and hike or watch the surroundings. Or drive out to Area 51 taking the extraterrestrial highway out to Rachel. Have lunch and a cocktail at the Little A'Le'Inn. They have rooms in adjacent trailers you can spend the night. Be aware the black mailbox is actually white, well at least it was when I was there in 2003.

Thanks for all the tips. We are staying near the Red Rock Canyons so I was planning on taking a day trip out there to sight-see. The Atomic Testing Museum was on my list already, possibly the Neon Museum.

I get no enjoyment from gambling away my money and I've been to the strip multiple times hence why I'm looking for other stuff to do. I've been to the Hover Dam and The Grand Canyon.

While the Racing stuff at VORE looks amazing and right up my alley its a bit out of my price range right now. I am a car guy so touring Welder Up or Counts Customs are a possibility. I'll check out some of the Arcades as well as some of the other suggestions given here. Our nights are pretty well planned out with her work gatherings and dinners.
