In Japan the people pride themselves on commonalities. We are all human, there are 8 basic personality types, it's not that complicated.

In the US we think we are all so individual that no one could ever figure us out and know all the intricacies of our lives. Any 5 year old can figure out all those intricacies in a few minutes.

people aren't that big of a deal in the grand scheme of things.
