It’s happening right now. They are voting on Wednesday. Protestors are calling for a flood on the senators.

No throttling
No censorship

Don’t let them end net neutrality protections.

It happened with ley lines and sacred sites. Ones version of heaven is another’s hellish nightmare. Neutrality is a right, a must. There’s other ways for protection that are common sense.

The clarity of it is this
People live in their states of time(past, present, future) and only for moments of reality out of time. That puts them at high risk of others taking advantage.
It’s not about what could be or what was. It never was. It not even about what is. Some understand the workings of the past by knowing what happened there and it is utilized for economic self interests in all aspects imaginable and even not imagined unless experienced for them self. Most manipulate that and some don’t so there isn’t a division line that is clear.

Net neutrality is weeks away from dying, and the first signs of change are already showing up at Netflix and other internet companies

Investors have a new risk factor to take into account when betting on tech companies — the end of net neutrality.

Dozens of tech companies, from internet video giant Netflix to online dating company Match, have begun sounding the alarm that the impending repeal of open internet rules could cause real problems to their businesses.

Fascists love net neutrality and the government having control over the Internet. However, fuck fascists. Let the Internet be free as it was before 2015.

If you allow them to remove it, then you might find yourself having to pay your ISP extra to be allowed to visit GLP, some day, when they start selling packages like they do with tv channels

It's the other way around, friend.. Net neutrality guarantees your freedom to surf the internet however you wish - removing it will allow them to control your internet use.

If you think lawmakers are ever going to vote for anything in a way that doesn't benefit them (even if it fucks over the people), you're nuts.

With that said, I hope that calling can make a difference. Doesn't hurt to try.

If that ever happened, my only comm would be with various VPN's. The local ISP would have nothing to sell other than that I talk to a VPN. If the VPNs were baned, I'd toss the "service' and do without.

On February 26, 2015, the FCC ruled in favor of net neutrality by reclassifying broadband as a common carrier under Title II of the Communications Act of 1934 and Section 706 of the Telecommunications Act of 1996.[8][9][10] On April 13, 2015, the FCC published the final rule on its new "net neutrality" regulations.[11][12] These rules went into effect on June 12, 2015.[13]

Nevertheless, on December 14, 2017, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) voted in favor of repealing these policies, 3–2, along party lines, as the 2015 vote had occurred.[19][20][21] On January 4, 2018, the FCC published the official text for "Restoring Internet freedom".[22][23] Shortly thereafter, twenty two state Attorneys General filed suit against the FCC, alleging among other things that the comment process had been corrupted, making the rule changes invalid.

Cable companies have lobbied Congress for a federal preemption to ban states and municipalities from competing and thereby interfering with interstate commerce. However, there is current Supreme Court precedent for an exception to the Commerce Power of Congress for states as states going into business for their citizens.[261]

It’s a step to a bigger picture

The history of the Internet begins with the development of electronic computers in the 1950s. Initial concepts of wide area networking originated in several computer science laboratories in the United States, United Kingdom, and France.

By 1938, the United States Navy had developed an electromechanical analog computer small enough to use aboard a submarine. This was the Torpedo Data Computer, which used trigonometry to solve the problem of firing a torpedo at a moving target. During World War II similar devices were developed in other countries as well.

How did they use communications act of 1934 act to pass

The Communications Act of 1934 is a United States federal law, signed into law by President Franklin D. Roosevelt on June 19, 1934, and codified as Chapter 5 of Title 47 of the United States Code, 47 U.S.C. § 151 et seq. The Act replaced the Federal Radio Commission with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). It also transferred regulation of interstate telephone services from the Interstate Commerce Commission to the FCC.

That’s why broadband was reclassified common carrier

The Telecommunications Act of 1996 was the first significant overhaul of telecommunications law in more than sixty years, amending the Communications Act of 1934. The Act, signed by President Bill Clinton, represented a major change in American telecommunication law, since it was the first time that the Internet was included in broadcasting and spectrum allotment.
