Wow: Beware of buying "loaded" credit/debit cards at stores! (green dot)

Unbelievable. ... I've been traveling and decided to buy those credit cards you see at checkout counters. Seemed like a good idea for hotels, transportation..etc. I even had to pay money just to purchase & set up the card, which is fine.
I had a few and was calling to see if I had money on them when I was directed to customer service just now.
Apparently my balance was -4.35!!!
I asked "joyce" (asian accent?) how a card that could ONLY have the amount I loaded at the store have a negative balance?!
She said it was a monthly fee of 7.95 and since I only had a few bucks left, that was the difference !
I said.. So you're acting as my bank now?
You're telling me that you've made yourself out to be a financial institution? You are giving me bad credit in an agreement I didn't make with you? And the ONLY way I would have even known this was this call? That every month, you are goi g to debit 7.95 in my name, in my social security number (which you must provide for this) and this is counting against my credit. Yes yes and yes.
Jose or maria Gonzalez know about this? Wow.
So I had to tell her to close my acct and that I am filing a fraud report in the morning. Not that she gives a shit. Not that anyone gives a shit. We are fucked so fucked guys. Signing contracts left & right, we have no idea. No idea what we will have to give away in order to clear our names.
