The World Health Organization's director-general, Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, flew into the Democratic Republic of the Congo at the weekend to visit an area hit by an outbreak of Ebola.

He also held talks on the situation with President Joseph Kabila.

His rapidly-organised visit comes against the backdrop of strong criticism of the international agency over its slowness to act in response to the West African Ebola outbreak of 2014, under the watch of his predecessor as WHO chief.

Comment: Last weekend.

Church will be the spread point for this one I would think from looking at the cultural aspects there from what I was reading. They also place gifts around the corpse...

When someone falls ill, the whole community works together to help the patient. First, it must be determined whether the illness comes "from God," or if it is of natural or human causes. If it is determined that a witch or enemy caused the sickness, then traditional healing methods and beliefs are used, such as offering sacrifices to God and the ancestors. If, however, the disease seems to be from God, members of the community will most likely go to church to pray for the person.

I think we won't need to really worry much in America until after September. I say this because that's about when our Flu season kicks off, and if they intend to let it in here, they'd at least wait until then, so for a time, it could be hidden in "flu" numbers.

Now if it's accidentally let in, all bets are off.

The epidemic of Ebola presents risks, according to the WHO representative in the Congo, Dr. Fatoumata Binta Diallo, for some departments of the Congo. -Brazzaville and some countries in the region.

"The epidemic has erupted in Equateur; the localities of Mbandaka and Bikoro are very close to the Likouala department, specifically the city of Liranga. As such, the WHO has declared some countries at very high risk. These are the Congo, the Central African Republic, all those countries that are bordering the DRC and especially this area [Congo]. We are on full alert, we are already in a position to prepare and respond quickly,..."she said.

The Equateur region in the DRC is bordering the department of Likouala. The 2 regions, whose populations exchange daily, are separated by the Ubangi River which leads to the Central African Republic.

[snip]

Communicated by:
ProMED-mail Rapporteur Mary Marshall

[Bikoro is in a very remote area of a country that has poor road infrastructure; it is situated on a lake connecting the highly trafficked Congo and Ubangi rivers. From there, people infected with Ebola can hop boats to major cities like the DRC's capital Kinshasa or nearby Brazzaville -- a potential public health nightmare officials are trying to prevent quickly.

Brazzaville, city (commune), capital, and river port of the Republic of the Congo and former capital of French Equatorial Africa, is situated on the north bank of the Congo River below Malebo (Stanley) Pool, across from Kinshasa, capital of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Its population is estimated to exceed 1.8 million. Over a third of the population of the Republic of Congo lives in the capital.

Vitamin C is key for proper blood structure, Ebola consumes 100% all your vitamin C, so your blood start passing where it shouldnt, and you die of hemorragia.

All hemorragic fevers use the same mechanism.

You need to buy 5/10 kilos minimum to be "safe", the more the better, you never know, of sodium ascorbate (more difficult to get) or ascorbic acid and react it to get sodium ascorbate. You also buy serum bottles. If you or someone close gets it, you open a hole in the top of the serum bottle and dissolve hundreds of grams (depends on the rate at which the serum enters the body), and put it in the patient. You need a nurse at least or you can learn how put a blood via. Needs to be changed every time is empties, for one or two weeks, till the immune system has time to act. Ebola kills you so fast that it overrides the immune system response. This is also what makes it so dangerous, so if it gets a loner incubation, your chances of beating it increase, so dont worry much about it changing in that aspect.

Research about it, lots of info and more exact doses, this is just a DYOR recomendation about it.
