People will be scouring Hawaii for diamonds after the lava cools. Yes it is possible, diamonds can come from deep in the earth through a volcano.

Get one of them cordless hammer drills and start taking slabs of that stuff. I'm trying to get 5 lbs shipped to me for processing. I got no bites, but a gay guy. I'm not sure if I can trust him.

Gonna need some very heavy equipment to break all that rock up to find anything.

Yep, the gold has melted, you would have to sift it for months to get any real value out of it if there actually was any there.

There wil be no diamonds in the lava. The lava is about 1292 to 2192 degrees Fahrenheit at the surface and diamonds burn, at about 763º Celsius (1405º Fahrenheit), it will simply vanish, without even ash remaining. Only a little carbon dioxide will have been released.

Some small bits might shoot up high in the air and cooled fast and be preserved if the lava is fast flowing and liquid.

From what I've read, supposedly a diamond is possible, although I've never heard of anyone finding a natural diamond in Hawai'i. You're not just going to find one laying out on the ground, not in Hawai'i. Olivine crystals, sure. Obsidian, sure. Olivine is easy to find.

As for gold, don't think so. Pre-contact Hawaiians didn't do metalworking, I just don't think there are useful metal ores to be found in the rock there. I've read that gold can be found in a type of rock that forms beneath stratovolcanoes and which is associated with subduction zones. Hawai'i isn't by a subduction zone, and Hawai'i volcanoes aren't stratovolcanoes.

I would believe this. I read some things that claimed a diamond could be possible, but I think it was more people talking out of their ass.

Bad science...lava isn't compression. Diamonds come from compression. Show me a volcanoe in Israel...it is why they have diamonds pouring out.
