Police said the girl's father unintentionally left the child in a car seat after dropping off her 5-year-old sibling at a daycare around 7:30 a.m.

Around 8 a.m., he left in a rideshare vehicle for the airport to leave for a business trip. His wife left for work in her own vehicle.

The child's mother went to the daycare facility to pick up BOTH children and was reportedly told the infant was never dropped off. Police said she called her husband, which is when she realized the child may have been left inside the truck.

How did he not realize he only dropped one child off if the mother was expecting to pick up two?

There is NO way the five year old didn't tell him over and over that the baby was still in the car!! No way! I have had too many little ones and they all look out for their younger sibling.

Yup. It is getting too common. This is just another way to kill children legally.

I am glad that when I was a child my mother did not have to work outside the house.

Now that people rely so much on electronics to remind them of everything they need to do throughout the day, it seems that some have lost the ability to think at all without these devices, to the point of even forgetting that they have a young child in the back seat who needs to be cared for.

You better all get on your knees and say 'there but for the grace of God go I'!

B.S. That poor fella loaded 2 kids in the car, at that moment he knew he had 2 children, What happened from there to the daycare to make him believe he only had 1 child?

You don"t just suddenly forget that you have 2 kids

My dad forgot to drop me off at school one time while on his way to work. And it was a part of his routine every weekday for years. Fortunately, being school-aged, I was old enough to tell him he forgot to stop, so he had to turn around.

I'm not excusing or explaining anything. I do think people are tired, overworked, and distracted, though. Even worse if it's something that's out of their normal routine, although lots of people do even their normal routine absentmindedly and on autopilot. If the parents took turns dropping off the kids on different days, that could make things harder to remember.

People should train themselves and make things a habit associated with something else. Like every time they lock their car door, they make sure to check the backseat. Or whatever.

We abort them, why not forget them..
