We have allowed our children to be flooded with environmental toxins which is completely altering many children’s neurological development. I can tell you first hand, the “discipline” she appears to be referring to is the exact opposite of what many of our children need. ADHD, autism and other neurological disorders don’t respond to the old school discipline that this uneducated teacher is calling for. She is ignorant. You cannot have a one size fits all approach to teaching. If I had to guess, this “teacher” has been doing it for a long time and refuses to adjust to the modern day child who is constantly bombarded with chemical toxins in their food, vaccines, dirt, grass, sky etc. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 72057746 She is a disservice to our future and needs to retire ASAP. IMHO, they need more teachers and schools. Instead of 30 to 1 it needs to be 15 to 1. Too many children with special needs to have the size of the classrooms we had in the old days. And better facilities. Most schools are shit. You should see the schools in Baton Rouge, LA. Depressing. There is no way the kids feel safe, much less valued. And a shorter school day with less wasted time. |

Recently a friend's daughter who has just started teaching advised that most of her friends who studied teaching have only lasted a year and left the profession. One girl was shocked to see that kids of 8 were sending Dick Pics!!!! My son complained about that as well from those he went school with, he was getting pic of the females they were sending to him, like he would have respect, or want anything to do, with some one like that. It embarrassed him and in time as they went out on their own, they became crack heads and wandering from one State to another, multiplying a number of mixed race illegitimate kids, with no marriage or father in sight and far from their family they left behind. She did not write it, but feels every parent needs to read it. At last, someone telling it like it is. Parents...discipline your friggen BRATS! Excerpt: "Lately, it seems that many parents have adopted a bizarrely lenient attitude toward disciplining children as well as bending over backwards to accommodate their children’s every demand. It’s unclear what’s causing these parents to believe that children should be subject to no limits, no discipline, and no stringent requirements at school. Whatever the cause, these parents are, in fact, doing a terrible disservice to today’s young people and to society as a whole. And, they are leaving their children’s teachers feeling frustrated, ill-supported, and utterly exhausted." [link to www.lovewhatmatters.com] My children attend a school that will not tolerate problem students. You are expelled quick smart. They also have two teachers in a class and the children have strict standards towards academics. Each Friday is testing day of what they learned that week. Anyone who receives less than 60% at the end of the year fails and will be kept back, or asked to leave if they cannot keep up. Children with learning difficulties have private classes for certain items they are having problems with. The teachers email parents regularly and there is a private forum where parents and teachers talk about the day's academics and what was taught. They attend a charter school and I must say, i am impressed. No wonder this group of schools beat Asian schools and are top in the world. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76632943 It's kinda obvious when you look at this particular situation and it's the same problem with society as a whole. You guys are overdosing on freedom. I grew up in the 50's and 60's, and every year my parents would have a conference with the teacher in which they told her (and later told me) that she had complete control over me as far as when I was in her class. They wanted to know if at any time I abused or violated any school or classroom rules, and I would subsequently be disciplined at home as well, usually involving losing any privileges during the weekend. And of course homework came first, before anything else like phone calls or going out to play with my friends. But they weren't the only ones who did that. It seems like back then Parents cared more about their kids, at least as far as how were they going to succeed in the World. Which, at that time, boiled down to how well or poorly one did in school. There weren't forty-eleven different after-school activities to eat up our time, so expectations seemed to be higher as far as education was concerned. Today, we are 4 words into a sentence she is learning to read. Every 2 days, she gets a word, then has to use it in a sentence verbally, then has to write it down. she dont know what the word is going to be before she gets it. So far, she can spell, write, and use them in a sentence. Then, she gets a prize on Friday. Got her PeppaPigs playground, she is going to be pumped up. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76317450 I explained to her, just like my 21 and 17yr olds, the more I teach you, the less the teacher has to be focused on you, and can help others that have problems. The teachers are information relayers, simple as that. When a parent teaches listening skills, and focus skills early in your seeds life, it makes it easier to understand relayed information, and what the Teachers main duty is.. The problem is social media, and "Look at me" persona kids are dealing with today. Not many think for themselves. Many look right, and go with what the right is doing. Lack of Leadership, lack of courtesy, lack of desire to be morally better then the next human. I can tell your future by watching someone simply cross the street. YOUR time is not more important then mine, Get your dam ass across the street. Footdraggers, and slowwww, " You can wait on me" mentality, WILL GET YOU NO WHERE!!! But if you put a dang hamburger and a large fry on the other corner, i bet they'd run then. My kids, if crossing a street, and cars are waiting on them, HUSTLE!! It shows consideration of others. Schools have always been like this, teachers always had to face these things, but consequences are nile. Now add the Music, the Social Media, the fake news, the fake friends, ALLLLLL the followers you have that you HAVE to top and showoff too, "look At me" on your stupid little handheld cancer makers, the Movies, the commercials, the drugs, the PRESSURE. To appease the people that know everything about you, but few give a shit about you. Its very easy to get influenced in a short period of time no-a-days. You can go from having no knowledge of a scenario, to being full blast Pro-scenario within minutes. The pipeline of information is instant, and not " thru the grape vine" anymore. the Brains of this generation is easily overtaken, by either Likes, or Comments in text, and not thru vocals. There is no dang reason, a teacher should have to say, " be quite please", 50 TIMES!!! No excuse, other then, Your Parents didnt do their job. You had no outside influence to tell you, " Listen the first time",,, And/Or consequences are nothing<, OR your showing off to the others, that your a cool rebellious individual, that will end up in jail, on welfare, homeless or dead, and dont give a shit about other PEOPLE DANG TIME, Because TIME is all we have, and TIME is what makes the world go round. And until people, understand, Time is of value, maybe they will consider, Theirs is just as important as Yours. You took the words right out of my mouth.. Well said! “In finding balance between lies and trust there will never be a better source than to speak your truth or make your peace some other way.” ~Sully Erna Many that live deserve death. And some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them? Then do not be too eager to deal out death in judgment. If a child's parents are sick, it frightens the hell out of them, thinking they will become just like them. So their only alternative is to identify themselves with someone or something other than what their parents and teachers represent, and this leaves the door wide open for the Devils influence through TV, computers and video games! |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 2062496 The staff was flabbergasted with our support of their decision and even more taken aback by our home-punishment. It's definitely a thing. My wife and I have spoken about this in the past, and our generation feels like they need to be constantly "making memories" for their children. Excessive vacationing to higher and higher end locations, (what little kid needs to go to Bora Bora every fucking Summer?) and a need to constantly build and maintain the illusion of a perfect home life, (mostly due to social media). In addition, a lot of parents feel guilty for having to work 2 full time jobs to support their lifestyles, so they in turn, baby and coddle their children as a way to make up for their absence. Just our little theories. Yep society is fucked. My daughter was caught riding around with her BF in a car that a friend stole. The BF mom claimed that my daughter was hers so I wouldn't find out. When I found out I grounded her for the last month of summer. She then left and went to live with her mom even though I had custody. In court they made a huge deal out of my way over the top punishment. Four weeks being grounded for being in a stolen car is way over the top. This society is so fucked up. |
