I finished watching the altered carbon series yesterday and holy moly man, everything was shown here.

The dreamworld was shown to be the land of the dead and usually to serve as a prison sentence with only difference in our case the criminals run our prison(see lockout 2012), and our loved ones to wait for us patiently outside this dreamworld/land of the dead to return to them.

The scene that made me sweat bullets was when kovacs was captured in a tunnel place/belly of the beast and was getting interrogated in a virtual cube/prison room and his crew managed to infiltrate his virtual prison and were telling him

As this reminded me identical scene from hellraiser hellworld and snowpiercer movies where the lunar boss/drug dealer morpheus have us all drugged sleeping(sleep/slip=pills!) and hallucinating human life.

In the other interrogating scene in the virtual world with a woman's body opened up on an operation table and harvested from all of her organs was symbolism how they farm and harvest our organs prometheus style while they have us drugged and asleep.(see island 2005 for more intel).

In this scene was shown also that the ones who run the virtual show are wanted criminals and working in secret and hidden places afraid all the time that they might get caught.(See the scene from black panther of the rulers of wakanda/underground hidden cave living in fear that they might get found one day.)

In this tv series they showed also humans living in hidden underground caves and a giant black goo matrix/avatar tree located right in the center reaching all the way to the sun/oculus window on top of the cave.

The black woman ruler of that cave symbolized also the lunar boss/queen and how all her people are expendable to her and all connected to her mind like in a hive mind that's why she is able to show up in the interrogation rooms of her captured people and rescue them.
Everything kovac's sister said about her was true and how like a chess player or AI computer calculates everything.
She was shown to be also the inventor of death giving everyone to live only up to 100 years max then her program/script that has implanted in all of us kills us.

The white prison virtual room from cube zero, dbz, matrix 1 etc was shown also here but as a black room and a girl screaming like majin buu from dbz "let me out!". It was hilarious how identical those scenes were.
