People ate made of protien and fats. Carbs are a poison. You don't need them. You don't count calories or anything with carnivore. Just let your body heal using the building basic building blocks. You will gain a little while you heal and your metabolism sorts itself out. Then you will lose weight naturally. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 83967199 08/07/2022 01:25 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I lost 34 lbs in 2 months 1 week. Was doing low carb at first switched to keto. I have cheat days once week pizza beer etc. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 36207979 I also drink liquor 5 nights a week doesn't effect my keto strips. One day um in ketosis one day not. Dropped 7 lbs in 13 days was in complete ketosis I use the strips. I get stuck frequently in weight loss stalling. I eat once meal a day now doing OMAD internment fasting. Why am I dropping so slow ? Is it the alcohol? Cause days I don't drink I gain a lb. Days I do I lose or keep steady. My appetite is GONE. Onky EAT about 600 calz a day one meal a day you would think I'd drop faster ! Alcohol vodka probably aboout 800 to 1000 calz per day What can I do ? I want to drop quick ! I eat meats eggs some cheese . Bullet proof coffee daily Lift heavy weights while fasted with no water, skip the fat in the coffee and skip the cheat days for 2 weeks. You need to be TRULY omad and make sure you don't exceed 1000 calories. You are probably obsessing over what might be glycogen weight fluctuation at this point, but the last bit of fat is hardest to lose because the body keeps it to protect itself. Don't listen to fancy explanations or "metabolism slowed down" BS. Just go a little more hardcore for 2 weeks. Drink LESS water so the body is forced to break down fat for the water. Obviously don't put yourself in danger. If you get a headache, have some water, but only a cup full. People drink WAY TOO MUCH WATER when they are trying to be "fit." |

I've also been there, drank every day for a couple years.. Quitting was the best decision of my life, but that's a different story. If you're average size and weight, you won't lose much with what you're doing. One pound of fat is 3500 cals. At a 300 calorie deficit, that's 11 days for 1 lb. More than likely a month just to notice a small amount of fat loss. Ideally, if you want to lose weight, (you should be healthy and should quit drinking or start seriously considering the negative impact on your life) you'll have to create a bigger gap in calories in Vs calories out. Cardio and strength training on a routine basis, a good refeed day and reset with a 24hr fast or two, and absolutely no food combined with alcohol. Final notes: I used to weigh 260 at 5'7, was an alcoholic for 2 years.. Now a former nasm trainer, been in stints of keto more times than I can count, 190lbs 5'8, 15%bf,best shape of my life. It's also worth noting that keto isn't the only option, nor the most efficient. See biolayne on YouTube (PhD and pro strength athlete) the science and studies say it all boils down to calories in Vs calories out. Good luck OP, I hope you climb out of that hole as unscathed (Thank God) as I did |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 78803971 United States 08/07/2022 01:40 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | how can alcohol, which is a simple sugar, not affect a Keto diet? Keto = Ketosis. If you are in a state of Ketosis...you should notice it your breath and being constantly thirsty. And if you are in a state of Ketosis you will lose weight while doing so, because your body has been redirected toward using stored fat, not food for energy. The only answer: Ketosis is a shocked state that happens because you have removed normal sugars from your diet. The body reacts to this abnormality by over-reacting and kicking in Ketosis. Eventually your metabolism would change to reflect new dietary habits. |

An 'off' day means you eat sugars that day and you end ketosis. It will take you multiple days to get back into that metabolic state. When I have used those diets I've always done them 2 weeks at a time. What you are doing is probably not getting into the metabolic state for more than 2 days or so. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 83130671 United States 08/07/2022 01:44 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | BTW, you don't get kicked out of keto because alcohol doesn't digest the same way and also takes precedence over digestion of other foods because it's a poison. Google that part. You won't get kicked out of keto with extra protein and I'm not going to argue with anyone over that. However you will need more than 600 calories of food.. At least 1000.. Not maximum 1000. Everyone gains weight when they eat, your body is out of whack and you're naturally going to fluctuate 1lb or two or three (water and other stuffs). Ideally you'll track weight every day, but evaluate the averages of every 3-5 days. For what this is worth, studies (modern + randomized + human) show that most fat in the body ORIGINATES from fat intake. Carbs amount to about 5% of the original source of your fat. Again, that's what scientists and studies have proven through testing, trial, and error. The insulin argument is losing its merit, and I'm speaking as someone who has always gravitated to keto for weight loss. Take that for what you will, and once again, I wish you the best of luck |

Like “I’ve lost 20lbs = cheat day” And restrict the alcohol or keep it for one drinking day a week. Alcohol will put your body into deeper state of ketosis because it sees alcohol as a poison so it stops using ketones and processes the alcohol out first but during that process you’re not burning fat just the alcohol. And don’t calorie restrict yourself on keto eat if you feel hungry, but work towards intermittent fasting goals. IMF + keto is very effective. I typically stick to one meal a day but early days of keto I did 2 meals (8hr food window - 16hrfast) Small snacks are fine if you get munchies handful of peanuts or olives pickles whatever you need. Just listen to your body. And if your piss isn’t nearly clear you’re not drinking enough water. |

You are just putting your body in starvation mode which means fat storage. No serious KETO person would ever suggest such low calories. And no alcohol that just converts to sugar. Sungaze_At_Dawn User ID: 81004338 Canada 08/07/2022 02:12 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I had to switch to healthy low ish carbs, more like 40-100 a day, intermittent fasting, sometimes its more keto, sometime upping carbs carefully. Your brain and thyroid need carbs and your thyroid regulates your metabolism and if its not happy it cuts off weight loss. That is why keto works for some but not all pre diabetics. I have to experiment all the time within intermittent fasting to ever lose a pound. Healthy carbs are sugar in fruits, that regulate your blood sugar, like cherries. Cane sugar a bit in your coffee. Cane sugar has minerals and vitamins and is low calories, but my body gets sleepy on honey, on sweets, but cane sugar in small amounts or half and half cane and xylitol, and it seems ok, can still lose a bit of weight when pushed. And molasses, is good for you too, a bit in porridge for example. Another carb, to occasionally take, maybe once or twice a month. You have to experiment. Occasional, maybe once every 2 weeks, potatoes, occasional rice/bread/noodles, so you have some light and small amount of carbs twice a week, or once a week. You need to experiment, to find out what works that way, whether you can just carb up once every 2 weeks, or carb up once a week, carb up gently twice a week, or if you can get away with carbing up for a couple of days once a month. Your thryoid will let you know. Last Edited by Sungaze_At_Dawn on 08/07/2022 02:15 PM The Devil tries to convince everyone he doesn't exist. The state tries to convince everyone they cannot resist. Anonymous Coward User ID: 83947264 United States 08/07/2022 02:19 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The reason. you're not losing weight is the alcohol. Most people don't know this, but alcohol is actually a sugar. I eat a high fat raw vegan diet and I lose a lot of weight on that every time I do it. I eat avocados, coconut milk shakes (full fat), cashews, nuts, seeds. The biggest scam in the world is when the cardiology association convinced everyone that low fat is bad. We NEED FAT. Low fat diets actually cause illness, because they added a lot of sugar to |

You have proba ly lost all of the easy ready to burn fat, and now the fat that is left has proba ly been there a while and is stubborn. Also genetics play a role as wrll too. If both of your parents are obese you will proba ly never have a six pack without devoting 12 hours a day to exercize. Im not saying you would lose more weight, jusy that you have reached a milestone where the rest of the weight wont be as easy. Losing weight, getting into shape and becoming healthy is a LIFESTYLE not somethibg you do for 3 months every couple of years. That is why aloy of people regain their weight... including myself. Ive been on the rollercoaster for about 5 years weighing between 210 and 290 poulds. |
