Re: Breaking: Florida - Alligator suspected of dragging woman into pond
These dangerous dinosaurs should be put on the menu due to the obvious shortage of food - when they turn to things outside the pond to eat, you know there is a problem. Boots, handbags, and gator stew await. I am sure we can conjure up some recipes and serve the starving among us a nutritious meal rather than allow this millions-of-years-old man eater devouring us. Same with sharks who hang out at tourist resorts. Over fishing and resulting imbalance is destroying our oceans along with pollution from sea-going ships and corporations along the waterways. Sharks are bottom feeders, scavengers, garbage men of the sea. When they show up at surface or edge of water, mating or a late dinner is usually the plan.
Had a dream long ago which showed me the future and it was not pretty. Been watching closely ever since.

A witness told police he saw a woman walking two dogs and then noticed the dogs were barking near the water, but she was not there, Davie Police Detective Viviana Gallinal said.

The poor lady is probably stuffed under a ledge along the bank of the bayou, tenderizing.

More hunting would put this problem right in a year.

yeah they don't eat you right away. After they drown a human, or a dog or deer, they stash the body under a log under water for a few days. Then they come back and feast.

My father watched the lake near him in his retirement

He said little yappy dogs are the dinner call for alligators

This time they took the owner
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 75213367

There was a video of a small dog that for 10 years chased a gator into the pond. Dog was probably slowing down with age and the gator grabbed him.

because humans decay like pork. so in a couple of days she'll be tender and Mr. Gator will be able to pull the meat apart.

Somebody's getting sued.
 Quoting: Coming Soon

The SJWs will go out and sue the gator for harming and even killing the woman. This'll be an entertaining episode of The Adventures of Team SJW.
 Quoting: darkwolf007

You're kidding right? They'll more than likely sue the family of the lady for feeding gators food that isn't part of their culture.

Sad story.

But this lady must not be from Florida. As someone who is, I learned at a young age to NEVER walk a dog around any freshwater pond or lake or creek. Gators will snatch your dog when it gets close to the shoreline.

I'm not saying Gators snatch dogs every day, but it happens frequently across the state in the summer.

The dog got the gators attention, and for some reason he dragged the lady in. Maybe the dog jumped out of the way and he grabbed what he could?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76080807

What he said, especially at night. Stay away from areas where gators live at night.

The dogs barking was just thanking the gator for taking the old bitch because she was feeding them Old Roy.

It's sad because it's the alligator's territory. We're the ones moving into it's natural area.

There are canals all along the area where I live. When I'm riding my bike, I always stop and look to see if I can see an alligator. I've spotted one or two in every canal.

They are protected, and there are laws to keep them protected. Unless one has been aggressive, like the one that ate the woman, the parks rangers usually just tag them, and leave them where they are.

Re: Breaking: Florida - Alligator suspected of dragging woman into pond
I grew up in that area of Ft Lauderdale. It is called Davie but it's not . The trailerpark I lived in was closed several years ago. that trailer park with the lake the alligator was in was another park to our west. Nothing good ever happened in that park of town . Nothing. And alligators only hunt humans because some dumb ass was feeding it . at first they take dogs , cats ect.

The need to cull the big ones with more open hunting season.
They have really rebounded back to epic numbers and they are huge now.
When I was a kid there really were not a lot of them around - now there are a LOT of them and they are huge. They need to be hunted.
