And, also I think the parents are probably crappy or the kid is out of control.

Sorry, mom. I'm a mom of teen girls, too and I know that sometimes we can't control them completely, but, I am so thankful my ladies (18 & 20 now) didn't go down that road. I would have to beat them. LOL

Like I said, there's a place where the line is drawn. If you're guilt tripping your kid (who is an adult btw) over a belly button piercing, then you're a bullying control freak, and your kid is going to surely lack confidence in adulthood. No question about it.

Tattooes and piercings are for insecure people who desperately crave attention and acceptance from other idiots.

There are deep spiritual implications with defiling your flesh with tats or cuttings (piercings), because God forbids it, in scripture.

Even from just a common sense perspective, putting permanent marks on yourself, or mutilating parts of your body is just plain stupid, and screams "I want attention!".

As soon as I see tattoos on someone, I automatically deduct 25 IQ points right off the top. Piercings, another 25 points.

It tells me she is not ashamed of her body. I think we have much worse things to worry about. Our bodies are gorgeous creations from a very holy image. Our own shame from guilt leads us to hide them. Now many are driven by lust, not love.

It's interesting that, long ago, the nude human body was commonplace in the form of statues and paintings. The Sistine Chapel is even full of nudity. We were capable of admiring beauty without thinking about sex.

Our vessels are a temporary situation, but they are to be enjoyed and used to serve our Father. We should love them like everything else. A piercing there is a lady calling attention to her beautiful form, which she loves. That is not lustful or uncouth. There is a time for modesty and a time to be more expressive.

Self-esteem is difficult to come by for ladies these days. They are held to extremely high standards by deranged media. They are taught that women with unnatural bodies are the most beautiful. Any sign that they are overcoming that is wonderful.

I got my belly button pierced as a teenager.

Not too long after I realized how stupid and trashy it was, and took it out.

I have a little hole and scar there now, which really isn't all that attractive.

Tell her that she will not wear that thing for the rest of her life, but she will wear the scar.

It's just not worth it.

Pretty sure they make fake ones anyway.

Tell her that anything she's considering which is permanent, she should wear a fake one for a whole month first.
