Liberal democracy is dying as the world converges on authoritarian beigeness
Elites no longer believe in the people's vote, and right now they are winning

It is possible, we have discovered, to adopt a version of capitalism, as China and Russia did, without embracing free speech and free elections. But Fukuyama had put his finger on a crucial trend. Globalisation is indeed spreading to politics and bringing about the same sort of convergence we see in every other field, from fashion to food.. The shocking reality is that the great democracies, including, tragically, Britain, are becoming steadily less libertarian and less democratic. Political systems are becoming less distinct and the old ideological power blocs (such as “the West”) are blurring or even gradually merging into one uniform mush..

The political scientist Clay Fuller calls this new consensus “authoritarian liberalism”. He predicts that, if it continues, it will encourage some to push for a nightmarish world superstate on the basis that “effective global governance would be possible for the first time in world history”.

Managerialism is now the dominant ideology among the educated classes around the world. It is based on the idea that popular voting is fine as long as it doesn’t change anything, of heavy government intervention in a nominally private economy, extensive social control and a move away from traditional, liberal individualism to an obsession with groups.. In Europe and America, the changes have included a massive increase in the power of judges, unelected central banks, surveillance states and ever-creeping paternalism and social control..

Thanks for the pin.

"Even more remarkably, previously defunct ideas are back: there is once again an offence of blasphemy, punishable through Twitterstorms. Free speech is outmoded, seen as a form of oppression. Cultural Marxism is running rampant. Right and Left are embracing identity politics. But it is the EU that has done more than any other institution to undermine genuine liberal democracy."

Globalism is basically communism with a nipple twist.

If you read the choice sloganeering of BLM, Antifa, or the Clintonistas and Obamites, it's straight out of the mouths of Marx and Mao.

All western democracies have two big parties playing good-cop/bad-cop. They are essentially both the same party bending over for the UN. Tomarto/tomayto. Governments permitting liberty is an oxymoron. All politicians just want an increasing population which brings an increased GDP which brings in more tax dollars. Governments would be very afraid of us if we had true freedom and liberty. Public servants are not public servants, they are the lords of the house.

It is like a mix of Corpocracy-Kleptocracy- Fascism.

Under the guise of love policies, casual pub like round table political policy making, that never gets anything but a put on show with nothing adapted from it and a policy contrary to it taken up instead.
Then there is the ease of signing off a trillion or more of who knows what you signed off and onto the peoples and States backs that burden is shifted and kept unknown unto them and they had nothing to go off to know what it even was in fullness and transparency.

Forced blind votes and threats of obstruction if not voted on the who knows what.
Praising the very deadly unto a Nation's government and people and its way life.
Calling such good for all.

Going after the voters for who they support, demanding to wipe out and cast off the Candidates voting base which is the people of the Nation the elections are for.

We cannot keep going in the direction of other Nation's that we are nothing like, without the peoples consent aligning our National way life and Nation, into one more accommodating to the opposite of ours and demanding of those not us and theirs instead be stood up with in ours and allowed to have Government place stood up inside the Nation that is not theirs or their place.

We cannot continue to exist going in this direction without being removed and replaced.
It is devastating to us.

Re: Liberal democracy is dying as the world converges on authoritarian beigeness
The is how it's playing out in England. There's a local election today in Lewisham, south London:

Howled down by the Left, closed down by the police

‘Racist scum’, ‘UKIP scum’, fingers in the air, ‘shame on you’ and Socialist Worker banners greeted me on Tuesday as I arrived at a hustings for today’s Lewisham East by-election.

As a London Assembly member I have been to many political debates, meetings and hustings, and over the years I have seen our heritage, customs and culture and free speech under various forms of attack from the Left.. But Tuesday’s episode in south London was more sinister and dangerous to our democracy than anything I have seen before...

You only have to look at Switzerland.

I think that they have recently put some obstacle in place to stop the flow, but the UN henchmen will just find another loophole to pour them back into the country.

What Paul Ryan is doing here does the same to all others in Congress and Senate, that the bombarding of the political Hall gathering done to the Candidates through liberal mob rule.

It removes the other State Representatives out of their equation.
They set National law the way they see fit by their own few, over the many without the many included.
They have excluded them unto the area of voting on only what they see fit to be put up for a vote on.

This is by passing the others State's rights and climbing over top of them all for their own little smorgasbord.
This is not the acceptable way to force your exclusive policy out on all States by the demands of the 20 some and what they want.
They should be doing that in their own States, not forcing it on all others minus their being apart of the policy making and approval of it.

It is no different than the Pelosi and Soros hideous demands.
We should not hand our selves over to such ways as that.

This is the cutting off of those populists/ right leaning I am referring as a comparison, to what is being carried out within our Government, by their pushing it in to push others out of their way by from the Open Border cheap migrant pushers.
That is is full intent to shut out and down those it does not Represent and hates, they personally profit off doing such things to others.

And is the Telegraph's imposition of censorship based on ability to pay for its journalism another indicator of this restrictive social control?

CSU BOSS: NO MORE COMPROMISE ON MIGRANTS

The Demon in Democracy
Totalitarian Temptations in Free Societies
By Ryszard Legutko

Written by an author who lived in Poland under communism. He sees what's happening quite clearly. Liberal democracy follows the same trajectory as communism, the only difference being that the people vote themselves into it through an ever-narrowing progression of "choices" instead of having it imposed on them from the outside. Live free or die! Good post.
