The Romanian Parliament adopted last week as a matter of urgency the bill B135 / 29.03.2018 on combating anti-Semitism, ignoring some steps taken by members of civil society, who pointed out that some provisions of that draft are unconstitutional.

In the explanatory memorandum of the bill, it is mentioned that: "The use of symbols or images associated with classical antisemitism to characterize the State of Israel or its citizens (for example, accusations that the J e w s had killed Jesus or accused them of committing ritual killings) "are forms of anti-Semitism, which, according to the newly-voted law, will be punished with many years of imprisonment.

The explanation of reasons is quite ambiguous, as the law itself is, which is why it is not possible to say precisely how exactly the "allegations that the J e w s had killed Jesus" should be formulated so that they may be considered deeds criminal: it could be human-to-human conversation (insults) or public discourse in which J e w s are directly accused of "having killed Jesus," as might be antisemitic and narrative biblical accounts of the death on the Cross of our Savior Jesus Christ, as well as the hymnography and iconography accompanying these accounts.

Because this is not explained in detail, the law can be interpreted in any way, and can become a tool to attempt to suppress any reference from the Church to trial, judgment, condemnation and crucifixion of the Savior, which would constitute a grave violation of Article 29 of the Romanian Constitution, which defends the freedom of religious conscience and guarantees the doctrinal autonomy of the cults towards the state and the state's support for the proper conduct of religious cults.

The explicit provision of the death-related events on the Cross of the Savior in this law prohibits the anti-Semitic manifestations and the risk that the assertion of biblical truth that the Savior Christ was crucified by Pontius Pilate as a result of his allegations to the Roman prefect ( John 19,12) by J e w i s h scholars and Pharisees (a historical account confirmed by the greatest J e w i s h historian, Josephus Flavius &-&-in J e w i s h Antichrists1) to be considered an anti-Semitic manifestation and to fall under this law must be a cause for concern to all believers Of the Romanian Orthodox Church, regardless of their position at the Council of Crete in 2016, and calls for a legal, albeit late, position, so that this law will not be promulgated by the President of Romania in this form.
