While having a medical condition is unfortunate, it does not give your parents a free pass to break the law, nor does it allow a child to go to prison with their parents in the same cell in the US. The adults prisons are not set up to provide for children, especially those with conditions that require specialized care. The "parents," having a special needs child, should be aware of how the law pertains to them in countries they enter. What else do you expect the government to do? Do you expect them to let the kids live with their parents in jail like American prisoners? Oh wait that's not what happens to American prisoners at all instead the child is separated from the parent. Do you expect them to put the kid in foster care even though they are not a citizen and are here illegally? Only solution is sending these people back to their home nations as far away from the border as possible every time they are caught and with no chance of citizenship in the future for the parent or the child. That's what we call a non emotion common sense based approach. |

I think there are some South American prisons where the kids can live with mom and dad and learn all about prison culture for a few years. They just open the gates twice a day so the kids can ride their bikes to school. But if that's what they are happy with, why are they trying to go to the US where it's not allowed?
