The 2014 ISIS invasion of Syria and Iraq was commanded from a Joint Strike Command-CIA bunker in Jordan.

CENTCOM provided direct air support the entire time to prevent Syria from closing its border crossings with Jordan, Turkey and Iraq. This allowed free movement across the borders.
