The Two Cherubim on the Ark are representative of DNA...



The Wings of the Cherubim are where the Nucleobases or Word of God is stored.

If One were to cause mischief and place an Abomination in the Temple, the Wings would be the ideal place to do it.

In other words, re-writing the Word of God.

"And the cherubims spread out their wings on high, and covered with their wings over the mercy seat, with their faces one to another; even to the mercy seatward were the faces of the cherubims"

The exact same word (Strong's 3671 - Kanaph) is used here...

Daniel 9:27 (KJV)
"And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate"

Newer translations actually use the word Wing...

Daniel 9:27 (New American Standard Bible)
"And he will make a firm covenant with the many for one week, but in the middle of the week he will put a stop to sacrifice and grain offering; and on the wing of abominations will come one who makes desolate, even until a complete destruction, one that is decreed, is poured out on the one who makes desolate"

The modern usage of 'Wing' refers to a section of, or addition to, a building.

However... the literal interpretation, the actual Wings of the Cherubim, is a much better fit.
