Several years ago I was in Philadelphia with family. We had a block of rooms in a hotel. One of my sisters asked me to help her set up her laptop for the in room WiFi. (The days where it was a several step process)
So I was sitting at the desk and she was sitting on the bed looking at a take out menu. I was concentrating on the laptop and absently answered “Yeah, a Rueben does sound good...I agree,we *should* all split portions since like you said,we’ve been on planes and sedentary all day..”.

Silence. Silence. Silence. So I turned around and she was giving me a strange look. “What?” “Repeat what you just said.” “Ummm yeah a Rueben does sound good...”. “Fly. I thought that. I didn’t say it out loud. “
“None of it? About being sedentary and splitting portions?”

“Nope! I only thought it. THAT is kind of creepy!”

We just started laughing. Because to me,the words had been clear as a bell.

Pretty mundane sort of mind reading, but there you have it.

I have this dream about twice every week, since i was a kid, as far as i can remember. I used to tell my mother(RIP) for years. Somehow i have large dark flapping wings ,like a bird, the ambient is negative foggy black and white , grey dull and i take off and fly out towards the sky, pushing hard i feel my chest muscles working like in gym . I'm 48yo and keep seeing this vision; leftover from last incarnation or some sort of entity attached, visible only when my soul is wandering astral realms, i don't know.

Re: The strangest thing to ever happen to you? Supernatural, paranormal, or "coincidental"..
I spent the night at my girlfriends house. Went to bed, right before I was about to fall asleep, I felt the bed move. I knew it wasn't my girlfriend because our bodies were up against each other, and she hadn't moved.

I opened my eyes and looked at what moved, there was a young girl sitting on the edge of the bed, looking directly at me. When I noticed her, she stood up and walked through the wall. I could only see her from waist up.

The next day I told my girlfriends mom (it was her house), as she was leaving. She laughed, thinking I was joking. An hour goes by and she walks back into the house, looks at me and was like, "you weren't lying were you". I responded, "why would I lie". She had apparently went over to her next door neighbors to help her with the garden. She mentioned that I had seen a ghost to her neighbor, thinking I was joking at the time. She gave the neighbor no details, but the neighbor responded, "was it a young girl".

Apparently a young girl had died in my girlfriends house like 15 years before they moved in, and the neighbor was around when it happened.

I have all kinds of stories that are similar.

I was looking into Arcturians like 5 years ago. I ended up posting a symbol on facebook that was suppose to be associated with them. A couple years later, my buddy messaged me, said he had a dream where 10 foot tall beings, who looked blue in color had come to him in his dream, asking about me, talking to him in a language that wasn't english, but he only understood it (apparently) because of the dream state. What made it weird is that a few nights before he contacted me, I started speaking some random language, not really sure what I was saying. I make notes of these things and wrote it down, long story short, it was pretty much the same language.

Had a dream a few days ago where I could use an iron rod to teleport anything within a 1 acre radius around me to any point on earth that I wanted to.

Had another dream where I saw saucers flying across the sky, met with one of the beings and they gave me a black looking box/briefcase that had some type of tech in it.

Have another dream a few days ago where I got shot in the head in-between my eyes. I felt the bullet hit me, I reached up and felt my forehead, I could feel the indention and the bullet. I pulled the bullet out, threw it on the ground and laughed at the person who shot me.

Not sure most people would believe some of them, if even I have a hard time believing them.

But I'll start off small.

When I was younger about 23, I could count to three and the street light would change to green. I did this constantly for a month easily over a hundred times and I started getting cocky. Then one day it just stopped and I kind of felt laughter. And I couldn't help but think God or some other entity played a nice little joke on me and every so we often we joke around with each other like friends would.

Many strange things have happened to me, but this one was actually amazing and scientific. I would not have believed it if I'd not seen it with my own eyes.

A friend of mine had a dog, very cute, smaller cocker spaniel type, about 3 yrs old. I'd stop by nearly every day, and somehow, one day, I started to blow some bubbles that were left by his granddaughter. The dog loved them. He would jump and bite at them, waiting patiently until I dipped the bubblw wand back in the little bottle and blew more. He became totally obsessed with this game!

Sometimes I'd take him out back to a fenced yard to play with the bubbles. But many times, I'd just sit in the chair in the living room, and blow the bubbles.

One day, i'd blown some bubbles first thing after I arrived-because by this time, the dog was expecting it, and was frantic for me to play "bubbles" with him akk the time. I was also regretting even starting this, as it was out of control.

There was an end table between my chair and the sofa where my friend sat. I screwed oin the bubble lid, and pushed it way back on the end table-because the dog would jump up to try to get it if not. Then I dried off the little round bubble wand thingy, and laid it down in front of the bottle. The dog was yipping, begging, staring at me wanting me to play bubbles again. i ignored him and kept talking to my friend. The dog was staring at the bubble wand as he sat there whining.

I was looking right at the little plastic bubble wand, and it jumped about 2 inches closer to the dog, sitting on the floor staring at it.

The freaking dog levitated the bubble wand with his mind! He couldn't reach the wand, plus I was looking right at it, and the dog was sitting on the floor in front of the table. it was truly unreal. I never would've believed it, but it happened.

Around 25 yrs ago when me and my hubby were 16, we were young and stupid and buzzing aerosols.
And we both seen the same fucking thing/creature as if we had peeked into another dimention.
We both seen a really tall guy with a black suit and big massive tophat, had to be about 15ft tall.
I screamed and flew into my hubbys arms and we both described what had freaked us out.
I know we were doing bad shit but its still wierd, i still wonder what the hell it was, i think it was a warning to stop doing what we were doing

Nothing is strange.
But I guess I'll start off small too:
I was maybe 4 or 5 years old. I was with my family and their friends in front of the place where I lived back then.
As they were all chatting I went to play in a garden nearby. I was 2-3 meters away from them.
As I was staring into the biggest tree there, a man appeared. But it was a 5cm tall man with butterfly wings who was emitting such a bright light that I was sure everyone there would see him.
As you might expect, only I was able to see him. I turned around to tell my parents and and it/he was gone.

Not me but a friend: riding his motorbike and a truck comes round a tight bend on the other side at speed. It’s back door had come open and swung round onto my friend’s side of the road.

He had no time to react he was sure he was about to die. He even closed his eyes as it was all he could do....

Seconds later he opens his eyes and he had passed through that door. He said there was no way it could have closed again he was too close and it was swinging round towards him straight at him at speed.

Wow.

In the 80's I was at an art supply store I frequented where some of the female employees were openly witches.

One of them was working the cash register and I felt an energy like I was being watched. I turned and she was looking at me and her green eyes were glowing with light, it appeared that the sunlight from the window behind her was shining through her eyes!

I got the hell out of there...

Late 70's driving from Kenosha WI to Milwaukee. It was around 10pm and fog so thick you could not see beyond the front of the car.Doing maybe 25mph. I was driving in the middle lane and i went to switch lanes to the right. Wife asked me why I was changing lanes as she felt safer in that one. I said just a feeling. About 30 seconds later passed a car that was dead stopped in the middle lane. My guess is he thought he was on the shoulder.

Back in 1993, I was at a family gathering/cookout/pool party. My aunt, uncle (who is a preacher), and Dad were grilling and my cousin and I were just finished swimming and were laying next to the pool drying off and looking up at the sky talking.

Suddenly a large "ball" came from the sky and hovered right above us no more than 50 feet in the air. From our perspective it was a little bit bigger than a bowling ball.

The ball was transluscent and glowing with what looked to be a blurry, shadowy ball inside of it.

It hovered there for about 10 seconds, then turned and took off into the sky at high speeds.

My family all saw it and to this day will not talk about it at all. (except for my cousin)

Lived alone with my cat and went to go to sleep, started my bedtime prayer and a creepy voice whispered "shut up" in the room. I knew I wasn't imagining it because my cat was startled and after that would always stare up at a certain spot. I assumed it was a demon and moved shortly after.

Re: The strangest thing to ever happen to you? Supernatural, paranormal, or "coincidental"..
Just now I put some water on the stove to cook some oatmeal. The house has a brick chimney with upstairs and downstairs fireplaces plus a flue with ductwork and vent fan over the stove. This stove, from the 70's, had a Tappan microwave overhead that died years ago. Currently the space is empty, the vent is open in the top. The fan doesn't work either. It also had just started raining outside.
I had just opened this thread, had music playing on C.C's thread, and walked back over to check the stove. I noticed a snake, with a white belly, was hanging out of the vent resting its head on the top frame of the stove. I said something and it moved as if taking a deep breath and slowly curled back around and disappeared back up into the duct. I only saw its front half, decent size, ~1" thick and maybe 10" hanging out of the hole.
So after sitting here, eating oatmeal, typing this post, the rain has moved through and I'm wondering how that snake got in there. TGIF!

What's the strangest thing to ever happen to you? Fringe topics more than welcome, as well as anything else.

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 60555180

I know this is too long. I don’t know how to say anything in 25 words or less, so thanks for reading.

This wasnt especially ‘strange’ to me. I’ve come to regard it as comforting...it’s happened a few times over the years; here’s the most recent: While visiting my sister at hospice, I began noticing the fragrance of flowers - like a bouquet of lilacs. It came and went. Once, it happened with several of us in the room. I didn’t mention it, but one person said “Who is wearing perfume?” They left, I went over to her bed, and continued to smell if until it faded.

It happened again the night before she died. The closer I moved to her bed, the stronger the fragrance was. Then it faded away again. She was heavily medicated and I didn’t want to say anythiing to alarm her. Again, the fragrance was lovely, like a bouquet of lilacs.

I stopped a nurse in the hallway, and asked her if anyone had ever reported this phenomenon, and she replied that yes, people sometimes reported smelling roses when a person was dying. While we were talking, the scent of roses was literally permeating the hallway. There wasn’t a rose in sight. Not a surprise since there were dying people in other rooms. It was the strongest rose fragrance I had ever experienced.

I told the nurse what I had experienced with my sister; she had no explanation, but told me what I was experiencing was real.

I debated whether to stay with my sister through the night, decided to head home, kissed her on the forehead, and told her I’d be back next day.

I woke up unexpectedly next morning at 5 AM. Unknown to me at the time, my husband was lying next to me, also awake. Later I learned my dad and other sisters had awakened at the same time, all wondering why we were awake so early. The phone rang at 5:15 AM, and the nurse told me she was trying to ease her breathing, but that she was getting ready to pass. We started getting ready to go to her, the phone rang again, and she had died.

I regretted not staying with her. I hope she knew somehow that we were all awake when she left us, and I hope she experienced the sweet fragrance of lilacs.
 Quoting: sgh

About a half hour after my brother passed I smelled roses too. I mentioned it and my mom said she couldn't smell anything. The Hospice lady didn't say anything.

So I walked back over to put the pan in the sink and saw the snake curled up on the bottom part of the open space which now serves as a shelf over the stove.
I put on a glove, talked to it, saying "let's get you back outside." Picked it up, carried it out the front door, and let go in the yard. Rat snake probably about 30" long. I've never seen one upstairs, maybe 2 or 3, possibly this one, in the basement.
Been here 57 years as of last month.

Re: The strangest thing to ever happen to you? Supernatural, paranormal, or "coincidental"..
About 5 years ago my wife and I were visiting friends and they told us about the Ghost Radar app. I installed it and started it up just for fun. Ghost hunting stuff never really interested me before. After 10 minutes of nothing it spoke the following words with about a 1 minute gap between.

Blue... Lights... Coming... I'd... Be... Afraid

Between the words Coming and I'd we noticed the sound of a police siren. I looked out the window and saw a State Trooper hauling ass with his blue lights on.

We let the app run for 30 minutes but it didn't say anything else. I left the app on my phone for about a month, running it for fun every day. It spoke numerous times but it was all gibberish.

I have no rational explanation for what happened.

True story.

Re: The strangest thing to ever happen to you? Supernatural, paranormal, or "coincidental"..
Here's another couple small ones;

I was having a hard day and was driving around town to do some errands. I went down a winding back road and was a little preoccupied selecting music to listen to, when my knee slipped off the wheel just as I was coming to a curve with a big tree just off the road. But before I could grab the wheel to turn and avoid the tree, the car turned and made the corner perfectly. I grabbed the wheel and finished making the S turn and was left in wonderment. I went back thinking maybe the curve was sloped inward to allow the car to turn or lean into the corner, but the road actually dipped towards the tree and left me with no explanation of how my car turned itself to make the corner and avoid a tree.

While surfing on a rather big day out alone as often happened when it got really big. I caught a wave and it was really big and powerful that day and before I could even fully drop in, the wave sucked my board and I up to the crest of the wave then slammed me all the way down to the bottom. It held me down under the water so long I almost didn't make to the surface in time and another 3 seconds more I might not be here. I thought wow that was too close and paddled back out thinking it wouldn't happen again. Well the next wave the same thing happened only this time it felt like I had less then a second left to reach the top before I would drown. I made it again and thought I need to be more careful, but paddled out again for another try. And sure enough the very same thing happened again, I still wonder to this day if I ever made it to the top in time. Because what I remember is taking a breath before I reached the surface of the water, but I didn't cough or choke on water. I later tried to explain this by thinking there was a lot of foam on the water from the huge pounding surf, but realize you will choke on the foamy water too, so I still have no rational explanation for what happened and often wonder if I'm mis-remembering what happened.

Strange Bright SPOTLIGHT Floods Palm Tree at 3:20 am !

After taking a long nap afternoon.. my 3 German Shepherds were bugging me to go out... Guess all the rain the last 3 weeks that kept them inside.. made them eager to go running around.

I was on the Golf Course by the Country Club 1 block over from my home... Standing on a Putting Practice Green.  A couple of big flood lights behind me from the Club House... so it is a nice place to hangout.. there are sand dunes, hills, cart sidewalk, etc.. the dogs had run around some.. and all came back.. waiting to see what I was going to do...

So I walk toward slightly inclined hill.. the grass is nicely cut there, and it curves along a big long drainage pond/ditch, full of weeds and big trees... This separates the houses from the golf course there.. except when it end at some woods.. The houses are behind the the ditch and trees and you can not see the houses..near this hill.

These woods are in a lower area.. But there is lots of space between them and the hill.

As I walked toward the little 20' hill with 2 Palms on it.. I stopped right at the edge of the Lighting behind me.. on the ground.. Standing in the dark area and it is all dark ahead.. I am wearing a headlight on, but have not turned it on yet.  Usually I turn it off when I stop.

Suddenly..at 3:20 am.. this Bright Light illuminates a good size 12-15' tall Palm Tree ahead.. right where the higher ground drops down.. toward the drainage ditch and larger trees! I'm about 30-35 yards from the hill and Palm Tree..

What the .. ??  I am still standing still ... looking to see where the SPOTLIGHT is coming from.. the entire tree is lighted up, but there is a shadow on branches...Indicated the light was from an angle. .... Some of the scrubs around the tree is light up... but most of the focus is on the tree branches trunk.

Light is as bright as a house spotlight.. and , seems to be from the wood area.. or could it be above me? This makes no sense.. I'm confused as.. there is no movement of the light.. and then after at least 5-15 seconds.. it fades out.. rapidly..   Not like it was switched off.. but slowly dims away.. in about 1/2 second..

Needless to say I froze and waited.. to see if it come on again.. or I could hear or see anything?

The dogs are behind me, but I can not tell any reaction from them.. like they would do if someone might be there.

After a couple of minutes .. I walk toward the tree.. and have my headlight on low.. seeing nothing.

Standing on the hill near the tree.. I turn all around.. to see where light could come from.. the trees toward the golf course shade it too much.. again.. No houses are visible in the woods..Only 2 houses(now to my far Left facing the tree - all the way across the pond.. ) are on visible and would have been on the back side of the trees... from where I stood when it happened - they have only a couple of small porch lights..

Sky is totally clear.. lots of stars.. No Moon yet.. No aircraft or helicopter noise or movement seen..

  What the hell?

I kept wanting to believe it came from the sky.. but the ground around the tree was not light up.. only the tree.. and some scrubs right at the base.. so it was like the light was from the wood area.. up in a tree.. because it is so big a dip there.. and to light up the scrub right at the base of the tree.. the light had to be level or higher than the ground..

Made me think of the dang Burning Bush story in the Bible.. I expected the thing to burst into flames at any time..

I hung around a bit looking around.. and finally looped on around.. down the trail and back to the Club House..

5:00 am back at home typing this..and I'm still pumped with adrenaline.

PS:

  Now thinking back...
One odd thing stands out.. before this..

My 3 German Shepherds the last 3-4 times were all interested in investigating the Tree Line around the Drainage area.. and especially the LAST TRIP... Right below that exact Palm involved..

They kept returning to the treeline repeatedly.. and entering the woods.. slightly.. Which they NEVER do by themselves.. I've tried to get them to enter woods in daylight by themselves.. less alone at night.

I kept calling them back.. because of possible coyotes.. or maybe other dogs in there?  Plus ticks, snakes, etc..

The last time I had them there.. a week before.. probably on Friday.. they were really curious of what was in the area that was LOWER RIGHT IN FRONT OF THAT PALM. I stood at that palm.. watching them. thinking they smelled a deer maybe?  My female dog was nervous.. and sit down.. just below the tree.. and stared at the treeline.. Again.. not normal.. Unless she senses something it there.  It was like the Watchdog they are.

Now out of the entire golf course.. and all the times I've been there with them the last 3 years.. 5 years with the mother dog.. They have never acted that way any other place.

Even the morning of this event.. they ran toward toward the end of that treeline (up toward the Club House) .. as I stood on the Greens.. as there is a little hill I can see them better at.

But they showed no interest or reaction of the light.. or the area right below the tree this morning.. even afterwards.

Yes, I returned the next day to measure the tree and take photos. I've also walked back along the same path at night now twice.. and my dogs show zero interest in the treeline now.

Re: The strangest thing to ever happen to you? Supernatural, paranormal, or "coincidental"..
Knowing someone's deepest secrets and / or immediate future with but a touch and knowing you are not permitted to tell them.

This has happened all my life but I'll give this one example before heading outside for home chores: I hugged a friend and in that moment saw her body crushed and dead.

The next day she was killed by a hit-and-run driver as she walked home from work.

Fifty years of this and it never stops nor can I 'control' it.
Until your military service has required you neutralize enemy combatants and invaders in the defense of your country,
don't presume to tell us that have defended you that you don't support every shot we fired to eliminate that enemy.

I've only had one. I was laying in bed, awake, when a girl swooped down from my ceiling and stood beside my bed. There was a flash of light when she came down and when she was swooped away. She was in a white gown and had blonde hair. It was all within seconds, and I was absolutely terrified. It happened a few years ago.

OK, here we go..

My wife's mother was old and frail in a retirement castle.

One day I had a call from the home. 12:30 PM

"Can you contact her daughter (my wife) to tell her she needs to be at her side, she is now dying. Her son is already here."

I contacted my wife at work and she thanked me. She left work to be with her brother, so they could be with their mother at that time. 12:35 PM

I heard nothing from that moment onwards until I spoke to my wife who told me that her mother had died in front of them.

Before she called me, I was standing outside of our house smoking a cigarette pondering the meaning of life and trying to understand what it all meant. At 04:10 PM. I looked up into the sky there was a disturbance in my vision and everything I could see. It was the briefest of moments, but quite definite

I asnwered my wife when she called to say that her mother had died at 04:10. Later I told her I already had known.

Working under a 72 Cadillac Fleetwood changing out the front coil springs.

It was jacked up and on a stand AND had the rear wheel blocked.

"GET OUT" was all I sensed.

I scooted out from under, and just I sat up, the car rolled back and off the stand & jack.

Without the springs, the front frame was about 3" off the driveway. 5,000 lbs. I wouldn't have had a chance.

My subconscious probably detected movement, but ...

Re: The strangest thing to ever happen to you? Supernatural, paranormal, or "coincidental"..
My psychic events probably first started, as far as I can tell.. in the 4ed grade... at age 9.

We had a Big Test the next morning, my Mother said... and it was important that I do good on it for my future.

They handed us the test and when I read the questions, I knew generally the answer immediately... without doing any calculation or thinking about it. So I just started marking the answers that "came to me".. and double checking them afterwards.

I remember on some of the Math Questions... I started doing some new ways to come to the answers, like rounding off... and I'd look and the answer was the same.. or close. I was the first one finished, and the teacher was surprised. She asked me if I was sure, and I said yes. I did not see what the big deal was. I think the teacher thought I blew it off.

Anyway, later I complained to Mom that the teachers were picking on me. She said it was because of that test. I never got the exact score, but she said I made the highest score on it that anyone had ever made in my Elementary School. It was an I.Q. Test I found out.

* * *
There is a topic of interest I've pondered over the years...

However, I never got the number.. or details.. I called the school.. but the old infamous fire burned all the records.. Amazing how that happens..

Anyway, a few months ago I came across a "Baby's Book" my Mother kept.. and she wrote that I had scored at the age of 9, as if I was 12 years of age.

So what the heck does that mean... I pondered... Humm.

Finally I found a formula.. every age standard 100... So all ages standard is 100 ... for that age.

      The formula is 120/90 x 100 then.. = 133 IQ.

This is the original 'rationale' behind an IQ score:
Mental age divided by actual age multiplied by 100.
